Becky sat on the ground, her knees tucked into her chest. Her small legs were adorned with skin tight jean leggings, covered with calf-length dark purple boots with a yellow smiley face on the top of the foot. A thick gray cardigan over a white tank with a purple knit hat and scarf completed Becky's look. She tucked her nose into the scarf, so that only her pure crystal blue eyes peeked out from under a waterfall of dark brown hair. Her hands had purple knit gloves with finger holes, and were currently wrapped around her knees. She sat on the hard, cold earth, shivering slightly, but not enough to cause her need to move. Her camera was at home, which caused a mixed set of emotions to set in. First, she was glad she left it so that the cold and many children who liked to frequent the park could not damage it. However, she was disappointed too. The scenery was breathtaking, and the ground was covered in a beautiful layer of new frost. Her eyes took mental pictures, storing them in her own memory, not wanting to lose this quiet, peaceful moment. Becky liked to take early morning strolls. Early as in 7 am early. At 6 she got ready and ate, 7 she took a walk, and the rest of the day usually went unscheduled. She just sort of went with whatever happened.
Currently, at 7 am, the park was empty of visitors. She sat alone on a small hill, looking out onto the land, breathing in the air. Her heart beat fast, and her breath came out in wisps if warm air. Her thoughts began to wander, wondering exactly what it was she had to do today. She had to at some point go and ride Star. She also had to take little Booboo to the vet, for his toe was bothering the poor thing. Other than that, she wasn't sure what to do with her day. She had few friends, and wasn't really too interested in any guy relationship wise yet. Becky shivered. She did enjoy her alone time, but she hated feeling so alone. Alone time is supposed to be an occasional happening, but lately it had consumed Becky. She had her cats and her horse, yes. But that did not mean she was not alone. A deep ache settled in her heart, knowing that her awkwardness and her inadequate social skills hindered her ability to make lasting relationships. The ache in her chest throbbed, but she decided to ignore it.
The beauty around her was astounding. She closed her eyes and drank it all in. She wished desperately she had someone to share this with. Someone to go on an adventure and explore the beauty and wonder the world had to offer. Becky opened her eyes and slowly got to her feet. Who said she couldn't have her own adventure? She scanned the area, her gaze falling on the perfect tree. It was definitely fit for climbing. Becky's agile body flew towards the base and climbed nimbly up the branches. Her scarf waved gently in a small breeze that gave Becky goose bumps from the chill. The tree she had managed to climb was not too far from the ground, and it really was not too great a place for hiding, since winter had stripped it of all it's leaves. She must have looked odd. A purple and gray dot climbing up a short tree, settling on the top branch. While not another soul was in the park. However, Becky sensed that perhaps she wasn't alone in this vast expanse of grass, trees, and benches. Someone else was there.

Chills settled through the spine of the petite brunette as she sat huddled on a bench, her breath whuffed from her lungs and became one with the air, a misty, petite little cloud that rose and dissipated in the frosty air above. She pulled the hood of her black and pink plaid winter coat closely around her face to try and get a break from this chill. "Fuck this cold" She hissed under her breath, more to herself then anyone else, as she looked down at the canine sitting at her feet. The german shepard/ coyote mutt was staring at her, rich brown orbs focused their puppy-like shine on her owner, ears (Entirely to large for her dome piece, i might add), were erect. It was almost as if the dog was taunting her. You know what, Penny? Screw you and your fur! she hissed jokingly at the dog at her feet. You should probably feel super special- making me come out here in the cold and all.. She sneered, before regretting the fact she was talking to a dog.
The girl let out a shiver and looked around. Winter was far from her favorite holiday. Sure, it was beautiful, but it was cold. This girl was one completly against the cold. rubbed her sore, cold hands together before reaching in her coat pocket and pulled out a pack of Marlboro 72's. Might as well do something since im being forced to sit out here... dogs... She mumbled to herself, and lit up one of the shorter cigarettes, and put it to her mouth. Her eye caught someone not to far away. A girl? She looked closer and saw... indeed, yes, it was a girl... in. the.. tree? She chuckled. Silly one... She muttered, before standing up and jerking on pennys leash lightly. The middle-sized dog jumped to her feet, and padded alongside her owner as Tonya made her way to the tree.
At the base, Tonya cupped a hand at eyebrow's height, protecting her vision from the bright winter sky as she looked up into the tree. Well.. Hello up thar!! She called up to the girl, her inner social butterfly fluttering its way out, letting its wings show. Tonya took a drag of her cigarette, never keeping her eyes off of the tree.

Rebecca breathed in the fresh air, letting her lungs expand and collapse in a distinct beat. The cool morning air was beginning to warm more and more as the sun peeked softly above the horizon line, steadily rising. The sky was clear with no clouds to be seen. It was a truly beautiful day, despite the chill and the white blanket of snow covering the ground. A twig snapped and Becky's head whipped around. A dog? A german shepherd mix? Attached to the dog was a human clinging tightly to the leash. Becky spotted her, and kept her eyes trained on her. She knew she hadn't been alone. She had not really seen this girl before, despite the small town life she had lived. Becky thought she could see the girl's mouth moving, as if she were talking to the dog. Well, it happens. Often, Becky found herself muttering things to Booboo or Chamomile when she was frustrated or lonely.
Becky watched for a while, then realized she had been spotted. Oh great, she thought I'm in a freaking tree for crying out loud? Can I scream 'abnormal' any louder? Becky was startled when the girl walked her way, and then proceeded to say "Well....Hello up thar!" Becky almost fell off the branch she was perched on. She caught her balance, and decided this conversation would be better suited where gravity could not hurt her quite as easily. She hopped down from branch to branch, finally landing on the cold, hard earth with a light thunk. She was about 6 or so feet away from the woman with the dog. Becky cleared her throat, "Well, hello there." Her slight Italian accent was hard to hide, but she sure tried her best. She wasn't quite sure how successful she was. "My name is Rebecca, but most call me Becky." She said, sticking out her small hand. Her fingers poked through the hobo gloves, slightly pink with the cold.

Tonya watched the spectacle with a grin on her face. It was a half smile, half biting her lip to keep from laughing. Its not that she was trying to be rude, it was not like her to be rude on a first-meet basis without good reason... it was just the fact that it wasn't everyday that you get to meet someone in a tree. If this day actually developed into some kind of friendship, this would be quite a story: Oh, when did you first meet? Oh, i saw her in a tree once... Great tale to tell people. But she watched, almost alarmed, when her voice caused the girl to almost fall. She was half preparing herself, as if she was going to develop super human powers and catch her somehow. Not likely, but still. She watched carefully as the girl lowered herself, alot more safely to the ground, branch by branch. She smiled at the girl, almost congradulating her for not falling. She listened intently to the girl, her greenish-hazel eyes set on her, except for when they were looking her up and down, assesing. You can really learn alot about someone if you just stepped back and pay attention. First impressions can tell you everything you need to know. You can tell if the person is shy, snobby, bitchy, whatever. she could see that this girl wasn't a bitch. First off, a snobby girl would never willingly climb a tree, second of all, she actually went through the effort of climbing down from her post to come and greet her personally. She wasn't shy, but she was friendly. So she was alright. Becky, eh? Well.. nice to meet you. She cooed and took the girls hand and gave it a warm, friendly shake. She gestured down to the dog sitting at her feet, And this.. this is Penny. She added, letting out a little chuckle and patting the canine's head. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other tiredly and wiped a couple loose flakes off of her shoulder and watched a mix of breath and cigarette smoke float up and dissapated into the chilly winter air. So uhm... not to be straight-foreword... do you want to sit? This wet ground is kinda making my feet cold She asked with a sheepish grin, and gestured towards a nearby bench.

Becky watched intently as she watched the girl assess her. Normal people would feel self-conscious, but Becky did the same thing, so it appeared normal to her. Assessing people visually and mentally were how she functioned. Becky grinned, glad someone else shared one of her odd habits. Becky's smile faltered a little though when the girl didn't mention who she was. It was nice to know her furry companion's name though. She awkwardly knelt down, holding out a closed fist for the dog to sniff. She loved dogs, always had. But it had been a while since she'd been around one. Especially a big one. Becky decided to take the initiative. "So this is Penny? She's beautiful. Tres bella." Her Italian was trying to get the best of her. "Does her owner have a name?" She asked, bright blue eyes gleaming in the cold winter light. The sky was brightening as the day grew on, the minutes and hours swathing themselves across the sky in bright beams of sunlight. The park should be filling up soon with stay at home moms, rowdy children, bored teenagers, and of course, wandering college students. Becky hoped the crowds wouldn't make her too nervous. She loved people, but too many of them in one place sort of freaked her out.
"So uhm... not to be straight-foreword... do you want to sit? This wet ground is kinda making my feet cold " Becky heard the girl say. Becky nodded, making her way over to a nearby bench. She used her slightly gloved hand to swipe of a dusting of snow, then settled down onto the worn plastic of the bench. She wrapped her scarf around her neck a third time to generate extra warmth that would ward off the cold seeping into her bum and legs from the frigid bench she just sat on. She patted the swept off place beside her, hoping the girl-with-no-name would join her.
[[Ooc: soooo sorry for the delay. School got the best of me I'm afraid. =\ ]]
