they sat amongst the trees. a game of
chess between them. god looked at the board intently
while Lucifer grinned one of his evil grins. the wind tossed
god's hair up in the air. it floated around her head like a
golden halo. she set her pawn down in the middle of the
board. she looked up. the devils expression had changed
to one of confusion.
"i don't understand." he said. "are we really
going to do this?" he asked. the game that they
were going to play was a dangerous one. they were
messing with the fabric of the universe. life itself. he had
done some pretty messed up stuff in his time but nothing
quite as big as this.
"you can back down now" she said. her voice came
in and out like the breeze that gently tossed her hair.
"we made a deal" the devil smiled wickedly at her.
"that's right. so who's the key?"
"human. a girl named vivianna." she extended her hand.
"may the best man win." A smile appeared.
and in a blink of an eye they were both gone. only the
chess board stayed behind. with the pawn in the middle.
eighteen years ago, god made a deal with the devil. they would create the ultimate human. both good and bad. a human with enough power to create or destroy. they called it THE KEY. the ultimate weapon fro good and evil. they would each try to tempt the key. try to pick a side. the prize would be ownership of the key and they would be the ultimate ruler. the only thing they didn't count on was that THE KEY has a mind of it's own and it doesn't want to be a pawn.
