The year is 2009, and the world is currently in a fragile state of peace. America still a troubled superpower and has many internal and external problems that were inherited to the new president, President Kelly. These problems include war in terror, natural disasters, and renegade internal terrorism from different agendas and even debates over the direction of science and personal rights. The voting public have all eyes on the new president, but he also has a rising problem to deal with. This great problem is the ‘Mutant menace’.
More than anything else, the rise of individuals with special abilities has set the country at panic. A right-wing extremist group, the Friends of Humanity, has risen to try to stop them, where President Kelly just got a bill pushed through that mandates all mutants must be registered. Parents, friends, and teachers are all recommended to turn in known mutants, for their—and the public's—good. Several people have noticed, however, that a large number of registered mutants suddenly disappear, not always with an excuse. Many mutants have fled underground, trying to avoid the registration. Others, the lucky, can hide their mutations and try to lead normal lives. Meanwhile, there has been talk of another, more mysterious bill, which President Kelly claims will stop the mutant threat. Many citizens, however, are taking matters into their own hands.
Two pro-mutant groups have risen up, albeit with very separate goals. The X-Men, led and funded by Professor Charles Xavier, have been trying in vain to prove to the world that mutants and humans can live in peace. In mostly-secret, they've been acting as a policing force, trying to deter their less-peaceful counterpart: the Acolytes. Under the orders of Magneto, they have wrecked havoc across the nation. They believe that President Kelly's actions are the start of a holocaust, and must be avoided at all costs. They are on the brink of starting a civil war. Innocents (and not-so-innocents) are caught in the conflict daily, and the whole country is in peril. Can they be stopped?
Genetic Dynasty is a brand-new, player-oriented X-men game. We focus on player input for plots and content, accept both canon and original characters, and have a great staff—if I do say so myself. Most canons are still open, and we promise that our first story arc is gonna be pretty epic. We're small now, but with people like you we'll grow. What's not to like?
