any takers?
needed: the upright guy, and maybe a friend. I can play the ex, though that's open too.
& also, if you think I should add something to the plot or have advice, please share! <3

Leila's a pretty lively girl, she's recently moved to town, yada yada. She's from Compton, California -- and boy, does she have some skeletons in her closet. She has a sort of gravitational pull, simply from the way she carries herself. She's two extremes, lively yet barely there, like a ghost.
She can cheer up most situations, and tackles anything with a daredevil's smirk and a smile, but there's always a feeling about her. A feeling like she's definitely not telling the whole story, like she's holding back.
Either way.. I was thinking that she could meet a guy, one who would usually be upright and had it together in society. While she, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. Specially with her past.
She could show the guy in question how to have a good time, how to 'wild out' and just..how to live. & On the other side, he could show her how to tone it down and not be so addicted to the thrill and adrenaline that she's used to.
However--here's the thing. He doesn't know, and has no clue about, her past. Where she's been, what she's done, and so on.
and all of this turns around with an old friend comes to town. By friend, I mean far from it. Ex-boyfriend.
He had contact of her old friends, and managed to pin point where she was staying. He was a friend of her parents, for they didn't know that he was part of the whole 'thug' scene that they were trying to pull her away from.
Now, Leila doesn't have an inborn hate of the guy, in fact they're pretty close to best friends, but let's face it--they're exes. She doesn't want to dwell in the past anymore, not with a new guy who looks promising and is showing her a different way to live her life--one that doesn't involve going to bed every night anxious for something to do, or wondering if she'll wake up in the morning.
Yet, with old flames around..which face can you trust? The new Leila, who's calmer, more settled down, and less full of fire? Or will that only bite you in the butt when the more dominant party-girl comes back from the ashes?
and on top of that, his presence also sparks up habits that'd slowly been dulled by the quietness of the town.
He wants her back, no doubt, and he knows more about her than the new guy probably does. He knows about the gangs, the murders, the dealing and specifically, the dirty little tale of how her choice to fight cost her brother his life. And he will stop at nothing to get her back, and send the new love in her life packing for the hills. After all, he's practically the same, with a similar background, he knows how terrible she must feel to hide such big secrets, and he'll use that to his advantage when all hell breaks loose.
This causes challenges for the new guy. Will he accept her past? Will he reject her for it? Surely he can't believe that old habits can die so quickly, in a matter of months..
