her eyes carefully scanned the surroundings through her side mirrors as she slowly backed her three-horse trailer up next to a large round pen. through the drivers side mirror, she glanced quickly at one of her horses gazing up and the young, female driver. the golden horses dark eyes practically asking, 'are we there yet?'. adriana knew the mare was anxious to escape the large, metal box holding her in and stretch her legs. all three horses were awaiting the chance for a little play-time. with a final glance around, making sure that no cars were going to be bumbarded by a horse, adriana put a little pressure on the brakes, set the massive truck in park, then turned off the engine. its hum becoming silent. a loud scream erupted from the back, and a head of a stallion abruptly stuck out. his long mane drooping down with pieces of hay hanging off it. with a small giggle, adriana unclipped her seatbelt and quickly opened the cab door, sliding out before slamming it shut and walking to her beloved babies. each one nickered a 'hello' before each one went about doing another thing. doll patiently watched as she prepared a lead rope for cool, who was also watching and, awaiting his turn. luckily, he was closests to the door, so his turn was first. attaching the lead to his halter and unclipping the bull-clip which was holding him still, her small hands rubbing the stallions soft and whiskery muzzle before she tossed the lead over his neck, then hurried to the back to open the door. once the door was opened and the bar lowed, the first horse stepped out carefully. his legs carrying him back until he was happily standing on grass, just outside his temporary holding pen. adriana slowly lifted her hands and grabbed his lead with one, giving him a pat with the other all before guideing him to the round pen. the young stud following close behind. "ok cool. go one." she said quietly to him, removing his halter. the horse glanced over at adriana before jogging off. he explored all he could then, marched over to the water tub for a long drink.[/color] -- 979
throwing the horses halter on the ground, the women made the short walk back to her trailer. the next beast to come out was cash. the beautiful chocolaty stud was devouring down the rest of what little hay he had left. the few bites that had not managed to stick to his mane and forelock. she chuckled, then stepped into the trailer and opened the divider. the young horse impatiently attempted to step back, only to be halted by the trailer tie and his owners hand gently pushing him forward. reluctantly, he stepped forward enough to have the lead attached, and the tie un-attached. now, he was allowed to back. so with a light command, he slowly begun backing out. as his back hooves hit the ground, the rest of him slid out, adriana close to his head. just like cool, she led cash to the pen and let him go. only this time, the halter was left on. that horse was the most playful and, would provide a small challenge.
finally, the last and final horse was about to come out. doll whinned from her window then retreated inside. adriana smiled, then put away the lead rope and stepped inside the trailer again. and just like before, the trailer divider was opened and the horse untied. "c'mon. let's get you out." the slender women cooed to her lovely palomino mare as adriana removed herself out of the horses way. instantly, the mare knew what to do and started backing out of the box. no lead, no person, no anything to help her. adriana just admired at her horses. how well trained they were at the ages they were. as she stood there admiring, doll gently nudged her cheek. she immediatly snapped out of it and went back to work. she quickly slipped dolls halter off before setting her free with the other two horses. luckily, none off the horses were feeling fresh, or there would be a pregnant mare. happy with them, she locked the gate up for a final time and then turned and stretched. taking a deep breath of the summer air. the sun ahead shining bright and making everything seem more beautiful then what it already was.
after unloading the horses, adriana started walking up to the barns office to hand her boarding papers over. she had been here for a few weeks but, due to her horses being in quarentine for 'health reasons' she had rented a room, got the papers a few days ago, and filled them out ahead of time. once inside, the cool air instantly cooled her off. she didn't mind the heat, just like her beloved creatures. yet, she wanted to get them inside soon. once she had dropped off the forms, adriana quickly jogged outside to her truck. she was going to park it next to the stable. there were no other trailers there, so she was able to get a close spot.
now finally parked and settled, she looked over at the bike in the back of the truck. its lime-green color shining while the chrome finish just practically blinded you. it was her favorite for hot days. the wind blowing, cooling you off. wow.
"ok. time to clean up before getting them settled more. . ." adriana muttered quietly to herself before opening the dressing room of the trailer and airing it out. putting her tack on the rack, hanging bridles back up, and the other neccesities like feed, buckets and such in their rightful spots. a new start in a new place. just what she needed.
