The sound of hoof beats thrashed the ground as the horses were being drug to the starting gate.How I hated horses racing.The poor horses had to run for money as there job and they could get hurt with in a matter of seconds.But what sucked the worse was that my parents brought me here because they started out MY 2 year old grey throughbred filly in racing.It wasn't fair for me because I had no say in the matter.I watched them bring Addiction out.
She looked really cute with her big blue bugged out eyes.I sighed as i seen the jockey steer her over to the gate like she was some type of car.I rolled my eyes at the jockey who was smiling at me.I drug myself to the end of the balcony in the front row.As Addie's ears perked up the bell rung and off she went.
Her long legs streched as far as they could go when she ran.She was in fourth but we all knew she'd be first within a few minutes.Everyone was cheering the racehorses on as birds flew around.To me everything was dead silent and all I could hear was the hoof beats of the horses.Only a quarter of a mile left until the finish line.Addie was in second place.Addie was right behind the horse in first she passed him with ease and the finish line was right in front of them.Addie stumbled and Rick fell off.The crowd went silent as Addie gallopped across the finish line.Rick kind of lied there for a minute then got up.Other jockeys tried avoiding him by the rim.He managed to get out of the mess and to the rail.They ended up getting second place because Rick fell off.
I felt soo bad for him because he loved Addie and feared that one day he'd fall off.After the race I hugged him and we talked.Of course being only 16 and he was 25 we're good friends.So we walked on opposite sides of Addiction and led her back to her stall with her purple blanket latched to her back.
