Ive Been Told I Look Like Jon Passavant
» Rock and Roll, Baby.;
I am so tall 6'1"
And I Weigh 180
Ive Bee Ninked And Pierced not at all
They always say I look like If I could do it in two words, we'd be good, and I'd say exceedingly good looking...oh wait, that's three. *slaps self* learn to count Jess. Anyway, due to having worked on the farm his whole life, he's quite well built or toned, or ripped, or whatever they're calling it these days. He's generally pretty scruffy looking considering he gets up before the sun and gets home long after it has gone down, leaving him with little time to consider his appearance.
His eyes, a unique blue green color, have a laughing sparkle in them at all times...unless he's really ticked off. His hair is sort of shaggy most of the time, though when he's on business or something like that, he gets it much more neat and professional looking. He's generally pretty tan since he spends most of his day out doors working or riding. He's also relatively tall at 6'1".
All in all, Derick's got most of the lady's man thing down. He's tall, somewhat dark, and handsome. Only problem is, most of the time he looks like the working man that he is. Don't get it? Well, when you go out and "wrestle" with cows in the dirt every day, I imagine you'd be pretty dirty and sweaty too. Unlike most cowboys, he's not really into the whole leather chaps and hat thing. He mostly just looks like your every day guy, just a bit more filthy.
This Is What Makes Me Stand Out Exceedingly curly hair(not ringlets)

I Do everything possible to make land developers miserable on guided trails
I Want to find a job that doesn't involve babysitting bratty kids.
I Fear every ranch in the entire country going under and turning into some subdivision
I Shut up why he rode.
I am Having been a small town guy his whole life, he has a very country oriented attitude. He hates the city passionately, and has pretty much vowed never to live there..ever. You'll find him to be more at home in the saddle wearing jeans and a T, and covered in dirt than in a club wearing dress clothes and completely preened to perfection, however, you might see him around there on a rare occasion when he feels like killing himself and needs nothing more than a drink.
He's got a good sense of humor, and I wouldn't exactly consider him...reserved. Certainly anything but a "party animal" but he's not the sort of person to just sit back and watch from a quiet corner. He's not exceedingly into parties, but with a little convincing you might be able to get him to accompany you. At this point in time, his horse, Big John, is his best friend, and he can't say he minds too much, he makes for good company.
He's a relatively patient person, but when it comes to spoiled bratty kids...he'd rather shoot them than deal with their problems. I know it sounds morbid, but we all have a fuse, and his gets burned a lot faster when it comes to screaming little devils. If it were his choice, he'd send them off to some sort of boot camp finishing school where they'd learn respect.
» I Know I Won't Be Home At All;
I Came From Angie and Bill Tanner who have both recently hit the good ripe age of 50 and currently manage a thoroughbred racing stable.
I Share My Dna With no one
I Come From Kentucky
But I Live Here Now Pinewood
This Is Who I was There's really no sob story to tell like what most people have these days. He was born on a farm in Kentucky where his dad trained thoroughbred racehorses. He loved those animals and worked with them whenever he could. He was mostly sort of a substitute for his dad's exercise riders from the age of 13 to 15 before he got too tall to ride the light framed racers. It was unhealthy for them to carry the weight of a guy over 6' tall.
When he turned 16, his dad, who was quite well off from the racing industry, bought him a thoroughbred quarter horse paint yearling by the name Big John. The horse had been given some ground work and such, though had never been broken to saddle and bridle. That was Derrick's job. He set to work almost immediately, and started training the horse for cutting and team roping/penning. The horse, much like Derrick himself, didn't stop growing at the expected height, but grew to be quite large. At 17 hands, though, he was the perfect height for his rather tall rider.
The pair mostly competed in local shows and the county fair, though after winning a county competition, they went to state, and then on to nationals. The team didn't fare too well in nationals, considering that we were competing against the best in the country and were just a small town team with no impressive history to speak of. After graduation, Derrick moved out to a ranch in Colorado where he worked with the cattle for a year. After that year, the owner of the ranch got into financial trouble and he was laid off along with a good many other men.
From there he started competing again, and eventually made my way out to West Virginia to a little town called Pinewood. He got a job at a local ranch, which started out as the perfect job, but turned south in a hurry. Rick, the ranch owner, started taking advantage of Derrick's need for the job and was making him play the part of babysitter for his two bratty kids. For that reason, and a few others, he really wanted to find a different job, but none of the other ranches were hiring, so he only had two options... hang in their and hope things got better, or quit, and have no job.
He tried the first option for a while, but as things continued slipping downhill, he quickly came to the realization that this was not going to work. He was going to end up killing those kids and his boss if he didn't do something soon. So after looking for another job in vain for some time, he gave up, and just quit his job. Now, he couldn't afford to pay for his house and Johnny's board, and he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do now...at least until he happened upon the "Long Rider's Guild," comprised of people who rode around the country on horse back living off of the generosity of the people on the road. He was inspired, to say the least, and before long, Big John, Badger, and Derrick Tanner had taken to the road, leaving Pinewood behind them.
Two years, and 6,500 miles later, the trio arrived back at their starting destination in Pinewood West Virginia, their trip having taken them up to the Canadian Border, along that to Washington, down the coast to California, and then across the mid United States back to West Virginia.
This Is Who I am Two years is a long time to be on the road, and it'll be nice to be home again.
