Aaron sighed, looking in the mirror one last time. He was in his house now, getting ready for his "date" with Audrey. He wasn't entirely sure what to call it - I mean, sure, he did like her. But they had just met for the first time earlier that day. When Aaron thought of a date, he thought about suits and dresses and showing a girl the time of her life. But tonight, he just picked a simple pop shop. He figured that if he surprised her with a limo and tux, he would probably scare the living daylights out of her. And that was not his goal. So now, here he stood, glancing in the mirror one last time before leaving the house to get Audrey.
Locking the front door behind him, Aaron unlocked his truck, jumped in and started the engine. The truck he drove was very old and a bit of a clunker, but it ran. Earlier today, he had washed off the front seats of their dust and clutter, a sad attempt at polishing up his crappy ride. But, what was he to do? He was no rich man, he made just enough to get by with a small amount of pocket money - definitely not enough for a new or even used truck. But that was life, and it was okay with him, he mused.
Pulling up in front of the address Audrey had given him, Aaron parallel parked with the other cars, then jumped out onto the asphalt. Walking around his truck he made his way to her porch, ringing the doorbell once. He paused, there was no responce. He rang it again, then listened. A faint shout came from inside, Be right there! Aaron nodded his head to himself, then sat down on the brick ledge surronding the porch. He sat for 10 minutes, waiting patiently until he heard the lock click on the door. Audrey stepped out, smiling at Aaron. Aaron smiled back shyly, taking Audrey's hand and helping her to the car. He opened the truck door for her, making sure she was in safely before shutting it and jumping in on his own side.
Starting the truck again, Aaron attempted to make small talk, but he was very nervous and it came out slightly stuttered. So...Audrey...how are you? Then he laughed at himself. Wait, thats...a bad question. I just saw you a few hours ago. I'm sure your okay...You are okay, right? A look of fear crossed his eyes. What if he had overlooked something, and she wasn't okay? He thought he was such a jerk sometimes..
(You can PP arron a little if you want, till they get to the diner. I figured I have done enough for now...lol)

audrey farrell pulling up the nails that hold up all you know; dress:shoes:necklace:hairAudrey studied herself in her bathroom mirror, combing through her hair with black fingernails. She made a face, unsatisfied with the clean-looking cut of her hair. She opened a cabinet and took out a half-filled bottle of baby blue hair dye and a pair of scissors. She slipped on a pair of gloves and squirted a stream of near-white goop into her hand. She rubbed it through a few parts in her hair carelessly, just going over her already blue streaks and a few other patches. She sat on her couch for an hour, waiting for it to set. After she was sure spots in her hair were nice a blue, she washed it out.
She stood in front of her mirror again, her hair dripping. She grabbed her scissors and combed a section of her bangs forward. She snipped along the edge, making a blunt bang that hung just above her eyebrows. She snipped the rest in layers, making her hair choppy, yet fashionable. After combing through it again, she blow dried it.
The teen flipped through the few decent clothes in her tiny closet, glancing toward her small dog, Cupcake, and showing her every outfit she picked out. The fluffy white mutt c.ocked her head at everything Audrey showed her. Finally, Audrey brought out a white halter dress with black swirls covering it. This time, Cupcake yipped and wagged her stubby little tail. Audrey smiled and patted her head, leaving to put it on. She slipped on black converses and a necklace of blue pearls. For the finishing touches, she put on a touch of black eyeshadow and added braids to her hair. And then the wait.
She waited about five minutes for the second ring of the doorbell. She stared at herself in the bathroom mirror, calling out of breathless, "Be right there!" For about ten minutes, she just stared, chewing on her lip. She finally gathered the courage to walk out of the front door, smiling at her 'date'. Aaron looked good, and for a moment, she wondered if she was overdressed. She dismissed that thought, though.
After she was in the truck, the nerves started to really get to her. She folded her hands in her lap and crossed her ankles. She tried to smile as much as possible and talk as little as needed. "I'm fine, really." Her voice was lighter than the way she felt. She remained quiet for the rest of the drive.
When they got there, she was sort of surprised of the location. Aaron came across to her as the type of guy that would pick her up in a stretch limo and take her to the fanciest restaurant in town. Once they parked, and Aaron got out of the truck, she grabbed the handle of her door and opened it. Scolding herself, she shut the door again and waited on him.(heheheheheh.... Sorry, I went all out.)

Aaron choose to ignore that Audrey opened the door herself, smiling when she quickly shut it. She was a quick learner. Anywhere else without Aaron, she could open and shut all the doors that pleased her little mind. But when she was with him, there was to be no manual labor. He was a gentleman, and she the lady - thats just the way it went.
Walking around to her side, Aaron opened said truck door, holding out a hand for Audrey. When she was down, he shut the door and pressed the button on the remote, locking the truck with a small beep. Standing next to Audrey, he turned his arm and bowed slightly, a joking grin on his face. Ladies first, madame Aaron chuckled, then opened the door for Audrey into the pop shop.
Aaron saw a sign in the entrance, it read Please seat yourself, a server will be with you momentarily. Aaron let Audrey pick the table, and then handed her the lamenated menu. He picked on up himself, scanning the menu quickly. He came here rather often and had a regular order. He always got a grilled cheese sandwich with a tomato, an order of french fries, and a mudslide milkshake.
The waitress walked over to the table a few minutes later. Can I take your order? Aaron nodded to Audrey, You first. He grinned shyly, trying to think of something to talk about.
