But Everyone Calls Me Aspen
Ive Been Breaking Hearts for 17 years

» Rock and Roll, Baby.;
I am so tall 5.1
And I Weigh 99 pounds
Ive Bee Ninked And Pierced None
They always say I look like
Aspen- dear, dear Aspen. A tomboy with the girly flair
that just cannot seem to be gotten rid of no matter
how she tries. With true blonde hair that seems to
truely casade down her shoulders and to mid back it
would probably be better for her to take advantage
of it. Ofcourse- she doesn't. Rarely does she dress
up for she would much rather wear her normal t-
shirts and old jeans any day. With a very slim build
and accented curves she is noticed quickly in a crowd;
which she dislikes much more than you ever would
believe. Her short stature is not a big deal to her
atall and she more or less thrives on it since she is
a jockey. Her long arms and fingers are the biggest
feature on her body.
Her face is rosy with a seemingly constant sun-burn.
Faded to a slight pink usualy because she cannot
seem to tan; nor does she try. Her eyes change in
color with what she wears and mostly are seen as
a blue-ish tint. Her lips have a downwards curve
to them and she surveys everyone with a look mixed
between fear and hate usualy. When she smiles it
makes her appearance like a desert flower though.
Her smiles are hardly ever directed towards a human;
but often towards an animal or a thing.
When she stands a hand is usualy rested on her hip
in a stance that tells everyone instantly that she does
not want messed with. Her firey eyes and her eyebrows
are very expressive; far more than her lips are as you
would quickly see. She walks with an arrogant air to her
that is unmistakable as anything else. She does not
seem to care what anyone thinks about her.
This Is What Makes Me Stand Out
Her eyes and her way of telling you
without words just what she wants

The reason she does not speak. You shall be untold
because if it were said; it would no longer be a secret.
I am
What can you say about a girl who does not speak?
How do you tell about her when she does not tell you?
You must observe. Aspen is a very different girl in ways
unexplainable. In this time and age speaking is seemingly
a necessity. Whether with your hands or with your lips
you cannot realy get along in a place like this without it.
But she can. Is she a superhuman? No; noone would
ever think that about her. Noone would ever believe that
a girl that could- or rather- would not speak could be
anything special atall.
Noone has ever understood Aspen's reasoning. And all
hopes of it have long since been abandoned. Many of
the specialists she has been sent to have believed that
she did not speak because she was afraid of being let
down. She was afraid that of she spoke she would be
yelled at; and simply resolved to quit talking. This; was
close to the truth though not completely. She was not
afraid of being yelled at. She couldn't care one bit less.
She was afraid someone would notice her.
Ever since she was a little girl she had an extreme hate
towards everyone. When someone would hurt themselves
she would not try to help them. She would glare at them
as if they had hurt her. She lashed out at anyone who tried
to reach out to her, or reason with her. After a while all
hopes of recovering her 'lost' speach and she was left
alone in the world; as she had wanted and longed for.
But her speech was not lost. It was simply hidden away
from the prying eyes of humans as a rabbit would hide
herself from savage hunters. She was perfectly capable
of speaking but had no drive to. She understands other
people well and only decides to not respond with words.
The only way to communicate with her is with patience
and with wit.
She does not allow others to take advantage of her-
and she worked through school faithfuly if only to
get the knowledge needed to read, write, and above
all. Earn. One thing she loves, and relates to is racing.
Her competitive drive egged her on to become great
in the racing business. So now- with her arabian mare
she strives to become 'the best of the best.'

This Is Who I was
Cry?; but I don't want to
As a baby- Aspen was always unusualy quiet. She never giggled as most babies do. She just laid there with arms outstretched. She was most happy when outside looking at the sky. She had no intrest in baby toys and would lie there on her back staring at it untill either she or the toy was removed. Sometimes she would quiver all over for hours for no reason. That was why they called her Aspen. They all knew she was different.
Say Mama, Say Dada
One of most preciouse moments for a baby was when they said their first word. Which was usualy Mama or Dada. But it did not come for a long time. It took over 3 times longer for her to say something and her word was not either of the expected. It was the simple word 'no'
One two buckle my shoes
When she was sent to school she advoided all possible comtact with other kids. Teachers reported that she would not try and make friends and often sat alone in class with her head down; drawing. She would not answer the teachers questions but obviously learned because when she wrote down answers they were well formed and usualy right.
I dont
At age 8 years old her mother became worried. Tests were done on her to see if she was unable to speak. But tests and doctors said she was fully capable of talking. She chose not to. One thing her mother never forgot was the defiant, prideful smile the little girl had given them when she heard this.
Horse
All of her free time was spent in the pasture with a small grey gelding from a neighboring farm. He would jump out of his pasture and meet her after school and she would lead him back undetected before he was missed. On day her mom noticed the girl sitting on the gelding peacefuly- they almost looked as if they were talking. If only she had know they were
Special one I am
Aspen knew that she was special. She could communicate with horses like noone else. She understood horses and they understood her. They were her friends. She had become a horse whisperer in her own mind and she was only happy when with one.
A horse, a horse! my kingdom for a horse!
Aspen was given as a suprise a small filly of bay coloring at age 15. Still unspeaking the girl had told her mother all she needed to know with her guesture. The guesture of a heart. Everything had seemed worth it in picking out the filly when she saw that.
Freedom is the key to happiness
The fine boned arabian filly grew into a beautiful mare with sure feet and amazing speed. Noone knew the mare's name but Aspen and the mare knew no friend but Aspen. They were made for eachother. Their friendship was strong and the horse would do anything for the girl. They rode for hours every day in hope of racing someday. And indeed they would...someday.
