It was a hot day at Pinewood. I hadn't rode in awhile and thought I would take Trigger on the trail for some easy exercise. I walked down to Triggers stall where the curious horse had his head poking out of his stall. Trigger whinnied to me his ears perked forward. I smiled and reached out to stroke the equines face. He lowerd his head and nugged me gently. I kissed his nose softly and then turned to walk to the tack room. I looked through the bridles all hanging in the right positions and grabbed Trigger hackmore. I walked from the room and back to Triggers stall.
Trigger sniffed the hackmore and knew right away we were going for a ride. I removed Trigger blue halter and gently placed the hackmore on him. I grabbed the reins and opened Triggers stall leading him out of his stall. We walked down to the opening of the barn. I squinted slightly as the sun gleamed on my face. I could right away feel the warmth of the sun on my flesh.
I mounted Trigger bareback. His coat felt soft between my bare legs since I was wearing short shorts. I gathered the reins and tapped Triggers sides gently. He slightly tossed his head and walked on. I headed for the Pinewood Trail.
---------------------------------------
I turned Trigger off the trail trough some trees. We soon came to a clearing where there was a small lake. I smiled and tapped triggers sides to make him trot. When we came to the lakes shore Trigger walked on into the lake. He went knee deep before I jumped off and into the water. I smiled and began to splash Trigger with water. The horse tossed his head and began to paw the water splashing me. I laughed and threw more water on him.
The water felt good on my heated skin. I knew it felt good for Trigger too. While he grazed on the shore I went for a swim. I took my boots off and jumped in. I swam in circles. I floated there thinking about stuff as I stared at the clouds. I smiled as I began to think about Zachary. He was the love of my life. I pulled myself up and swam back to shore. My hair was a mess and my cloths were soaked. I didnt care. I caught Trigger and jumped up on his back and headed back to the stables.
