Charlie just shook his head and kept walking. She could threaten him with telling the judge whatever she jolly well pleased, he didn't care. Besides, testing out here was for the people who they thought could maybe be high, but maybe not. Everyone of these kids would be tested once they got to jail. He'd been a policeman for about a year now, and he knew the way things worked. He wasn't going to let the frivolous threats of a high teenager throw him off. It was strange, how he thought that. Sure, she was 17, which was younger than him, but he was only 19. He was the youngest guy on the force, being nearly two years younger than the next guy up. He took a lot of grief for it, but he didn't mind. That was what happened when you graduated high school two years early.
Once again, he ignored her questions. Yeah, he was different, and he didn't care. He wasn't the sort of guy to sleep around with whatever girl asked him to. No, he wanted to find the girl he would marry before any of that happened, and she was certainly not the girl he was going to marry. He paused to let her throw up, and then guided her around it, and continued on his way. They had finally reached the car, and Charlie was grateful of it. He was getting really tired of this kid, and couldn't wait to get rid of her. They're going to have to take you down town now Ms. Mathews, He said, as Wade came around to open the door to the car for him, I'm sorry.
