Evan smiled when he saw Blair sitting there on the bench. Zelda yipped slightly but quieted when Evan told her to. The dog was quivering with excitement. "Yeah, let's go" He said as he neared her bench. He told Zelda to sit, she had a tendency to jump when she got to excited.
The dog sat but was still shaking, she threw her head in protest of not being able to move. She was obedient with her commands, not to much her manners. Her large ears sat atop her head and her tongue fell out of her mouth to the side as she yipped again. Evan laid a hand on her head to calm the over excited dog.
"This is Zelda" He said referring to the tall dog sitting at his side "Hyperactive but harmless" He liked to explain her that way, and every time he talked about her he smiled. Zelda had been Jakes dog, Evan remembered how his brother saved up such a long time to get a pharaoh hound and finally bought Zelda. But that memory didn't make his eyes glaze in pain, he kept the smile, true and sincere.

Blair looked down at the tall dog beside Evan. She could tell Zelda was excited, and she was impressed by how Evan handled her. "Zelda. Nice name." she commented, looking back up at him. She noticed that he was just a bit taller than her. She would have to stand on tiptoes be eye-level to him.
She found herself with nothing to do again. She worried her bottom lip, trying to find something to say. Her mind was blank for a few seconds. She found herself studdering. "Ugh... nice car." She hadn't even looked at the car. "I don't have one." She had already said that, and she knew it.
The rain was coming steadily now, and she could hear horses whinnying outside. She worried her lip again, hoping she didn't look too stupid.

Evan laughed at her comment about his car, "Sure if you like sitting in a box" But that's how he felt when sitting in the car, like he was sitting in a box. Although he bet it would be fun to sit in a box, like a big refrigerator box, especially if it was magical, like in a different world...He snapped out of it and opened the back door, Zelda hopped in effortlessly, dragging her leash inside with her. He left it clipped on to her collar and shut the door.
The wind blew and rain splattered into his face, he'd have to put the back windows up when he started the car. He wiped his face dry and reached for the door handle. He pulled it open and sat down. Shutting the door, he found it rather cool inside the car. He pulled the seat belt around himself, a habit he had, always wearing his belt.
He reached into his pocket and retrieved the keys, found the car key and put it in the ignition. It started effortlessly. He turned the wipers on to clean the windshield and put the back windows up. Zelda pounced from side to side in the back but didn't try to climb up front, much to Evan's relief. Turning to Blair he ask "So where do you live?"

Blair laughed. She liked odd, small cars. She didn't know why. If she ever got a car, she wanted a Beetle. A blood red one, with a dream catcher on the rearview mirror. She had a very vivid image of herself, driving her Bug. She smiled at the thought of it.
She took her time walking to the car. The rain tapped against her skin, leaving little circles of darker color on her shirt and pants. Her bare arms were soon drenched in rain, and she had just reached the car. She saw herself in the window, almost soaked. She felt bad for getting Evan's car wet.
Blair pulled open the car door and stepped inside. She didn't try to be graceful about it. She just plopped down in the seat, resembling a rather wet dog. Her cheeks were pink, and she looked down at her dotted pants. She looked up again when she heard him speak.
"501 Ramon Drive." she stated, almost robotically. She reached into her pocket, bring out her single key. She sighed and slid it back into her pocket. She found herself wondering what she was going to have for dinner that night. She really hoped her foster mom hadn't gotten veggie tacos again. To be truthful, she normally ended up giving the mess of fake meat to the cat. At least it was good for something.

[[SO sorry, we sent our computer away to get wiped clean, we got a virus, and I haven't been able to get on since, but I'm back now, also I have no muse XD]]
Evan nodded when she said her address, he knew where it was. He pulled out of Pinewood and onto the main road, the only sound was the engine humming and Zelda panting in the back seat. There was also very little cars on the roads. He flipped his headlights on as the rain began falling harder and accompanying the headlights came his windshield wipers.
The silence was kind of awkward for Evan, yet for part of him it wasn't. He did prefer conversation though. "So..." He started in a way of trying to start conversation. He liked silence, don't get him wrong, but right now, it all seemed kind of awkward for him. Zelda popped her head up just them between the two and licked the side of Evan's face. Her tail was wagging and she was rocking back and forth with the motion. Evan smiled and patted the dogs muzzle until she climbed back into the back seats.
(That is extremely bad, I'm so sorry, but I have absolutely no muse, and I haven't posted here in like a week)

Blair let out the air that she didn't realize she had been holding. Her thumbs were twirling in her lap, and her foot was lightly tapping. She was biting her cheek. The dog didn't bother her, and neither did the sound of her panting, but the near silence did. She was overly relieved when Evan spoke, even if it was only one word. She tried to contain the way she felt, but even she knew she sounded way too eager when she spoke.
"Um... sweet dog." she stammered. "What breed is she?" Her foot had stopped, but she was still twirling her thumbs. She was in desperate need of an mp3 player or something so she wouldn't burst open and splatter Blair bits all over Evan's car. She knew she was frowning, so looked out of the window. For some odd reason, she never got motion sick. When she was little, a week or so after her parents died, her and her horse were brought over to America via airplane. Everyone stared at her because she looked down, through the glass of the window, of course, to the clouds below. She had sat alone for the entire flight.

Blair spoke just as they hit a red light. Evan stopped the car at the light and then answered her "Pharaoh Hound" He said nearly emotionless. Zelda was one of a unique breed not usually seen outside the show ring, which is why she especially had appealed to Jake when he bought her. But of course, with his passing, Zelda became Evan's and he couldn't be happier with a different dog.
As the light turned green he steered the car around the corner, now on Blair's street. He slowed the car down, looking at the street numbers in silence. They passed quickly until he was in front of her house, which from the outside, looked better than his. He stopped the car and looked up at the house, the first thing he saw in the window was a cat, he wasn't a cat kinda guy. Zelda pushed her nose against the window wondering what this strange place was.

Blair frowned the entire way to her house. Evan was being quiet, and that made her uneasy. Her fingers stopped drumming against the leather window sill and her foot quit tapping. She continued chewing on her lip, and barely nodded when he answered her question. He sure is a focused driver... she thought quietly. Or maybe it's me...
At least she felt safe in his car. She had nightmares about Mrs. Loveless's driving. For some odd reason, she had never called the old-fashioned woman 'mom' or 'mother'. She had never called Mr. Loveless by any more than his first name. Maybe she felt it wasn't her place to think of them as her parents. She had never forgotten her real parents. They were so kind. So loving.
Blair let out a sigh of relief whenever she saw her house. She smiled inwardly. And then the frown came back to haunt her. The devil's spawn was staring at her from her bedroom window. "Lennon!" she whispered harshly. She turned to Evan. "I've got to go. The stupid cat probably ate my goldfish!" Before she realized what she was doing, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. It wasn't real serious or anything, just friendly. Kind of. Her face turned bright red. "Ugh... sorry." she muttered, opening the car door.
