[Josh: feel fee to bring him in whenever. He could just be visiting a faimly member and see Hayley?]
[Ok, so my last thread was freaking crappy, and this one probably will be too. ]
Hayley was another drugs get together down town. There were maybe, seven people here? Hayley didn’t really know any of the but her dealer, who had been all over Hayley. Hayley told him to stop and she had a boyfriend, he congratulated her. You know what, drug dealers who so respectful these days. Hayley patted him on the back, and let him inject the heroine in her thigh. “Last drug party you told a man you weren’t fond of needles.” He said cuorisly as he watched her fall to the floor. Hayley rubbed her eyes. That wasn’t heroin. She felt a different spring to it. Hayley immediately snapped. “What the hell was it?” She said trying to stand up. “PCP and heroine.” He laughed. She was going to be the psycho one again, oh lovely.
Then everybody started to scatter, and suddenly she saw flashes of blue and red. Hayley tried to run, but before she could scream a police had had her handcuffed. “What’s your name”? He asked harshly. “Hayley Mathews.” He laughed, remembering the girl. “Still at it?” He threw her into the cop car. Hayley was of course balling and screaming. “I love you Charlie, please let me go. I have a boyfriend, I have a son.. “ He begged. When they finally got to the jail, she heard few inmates snicker. “Look how short she is.” One said. “Oh my god, it’s carrot top” they teased. She was thrown into a cell, with that looked like a gorilla. The girl pushed Hayley up against the bench, and smacked her in the face. “Your sleeping on the floor, I want both beds” Hayley ran up to the bar screaming. She was high, she wanted Charlie.

Who's Charlie That was the question that was reverberating around the police station that night. They couldn't get that girl to shut up, the one they had just arrested in a drug bust. She kept screaming and yelling for some guy by the name of Charlie. Finally, the officer who had driven her in to the station mentioned that she had said something about the name Parker and that could possibly be a last name for this Charlie fellow. They all thought it was a possibility, and looked up the name. They called and asked him if he knew someone by the name of Hayley Mathews. Of course he said yes, and they told him to please come down to the station. He knew that could mean only one thing.
He didn't waste any time in getting there, and pulled his car to a stop in the parking lot. This all seemed too familiar. This used to be where he worked, this used to be the place he would pull into every night and head down to the mounted police department, saddle up Brigadier, and head out on patrol. Not any more though, now his only reason for coming here was because Hayley was locked up in one of the cells. He walked in the door and saw a few familiar faces, and several he didn't recognize. There was a look of disbelief on the faces of those who knew him, and a look of disgust on the faces of those who hadn't known him.
Parker? one of the guys asked, hardly able to believe that it was the same Charlie he'd known from the force. Charlie only nodded and continued on. He's the one who quit isn't he? One of the ones who hadn't known him asked, in a mocking tone, a smug smirk plastered on his face. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't standing behind any sort of counter, and Charlie walked up to him, grabbed him by the shirt collar and shoved him up against the wall. Yeah I'm the one who quit. He said, obviously about ready to decapitate the guy. and with good reason to. I didn't want to become like you. The other officer who didn't know Charlie from before started forwards, most likely to arrest Charlie for aggravated assault, but the two officers who did know Charlie stopped him. If Charlie hadn't slammed that guy against the wall, they would have.
Charlie let the guy go, still glaring at him, Which one? He asked the guys who knew him, though still keeping his angered gaze locked on the smug officer who looked now quite terrified. 47A. He replied, and started towards the door to open it. He knew Charlie, and he knew him well. He trusted any decision he made. I'm not leaving without her. He said as he passed the guy. I'll see what I can do. He replied, of course meaning that he was going to do whatever he could to let Charlie take Hayley home with him.
Charlie nodded and continued on. He paused at each door to wait for the buzzer that announced his coming and then the opening of the door. When finally he got to section B, he could already hear Hayley screaming. She must really have been high on something. This didn't seem like her normal high though, and he was guessing she was on something different. He stopped in the "greeting" area where Hayley would be brought out to. He could have just gone into the cell area had he asked them to allow him to, but he didn't want to be around the other inmates, he wanted it to be just him and Hayley. So here he would wait for her to be brought out. And if whoever brought her out was treating her roughly, he wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing to him as he'd done to the young officer up at the front "lobby" area.

Hayley slammed herself on the bar, trying to get out. ”I want to see my son.” She said, as a tear fell down her cheek. Hayley tried again, but the bars wouldn’t fall. Hayley kept trying, until her knuckles looked like there were bleeding. The other inmate had been sitting there laughing. She was large darker woman, who previously said she was in here on the account of man slaughter and had never taken or thought about taken drugs. What a smart girl. Hayley was pushed into the corner again, and Hayley hoped to god she wasn’t being rapped by a woman. She was.
The woman placed (or tried to) her lips on Hayley’s. Hayley squirmed as much as she could and shook her head every which way. Hayley saw Charlie at the corner of her eye and tried to call his name. “Help, Charlie.” She closed her eyes and continued to make it hard for the girl to pin her down and kiss her. Hayley waited for the cops to come get her.

Charlie had a terrible feeling about Hayley being here. He didn't know why, he just didn't like it at all. He knew that tossing her in a cell wasn't going to help her at all, and in fact might make things worse. So many times she had talked about what it had been like the time he'd thrown her in jail, and he knew that it hadn't been a pleasant experience for her...not to mention hadn't helped her at all with her drug problem. He paced the deserted visiting room impatiently waiting for them to bring her out here so he could see her. If he was unable to take her home tonight, he would make absolutely certain that she got good treatment, no matter what.
The buzzer back in the cell area rang and the door opened. Three officers walked in, and when they saw the other lady practically on top of Hayley, they quickly opened the door and two of the men pulled her off while the third quickly ushered Hayley out. They didn't want to have to tell Charlie that she'd been raped by someone in prison for homicide. From the way he'd so quickly demanded to see Hayley, they knew that he really cared for her, and because he cared for her so much, they knew that he would probably kill someone if it was reported to him that she'd been raped while in jail. Charlie was a strong guy back when he was on the force, and they didn't doubt that he still was.
Once Hayley was safely away from the bigger lady, the other two officers exited the cell and closed the door, making certain it locked before they left. All three of them escorted the extremely high girl into the visiting room where Charlie was waiting. They opened the door and two of them accompanied her in, while one stayed outside the door. Charlie looked up as she came in, his worry for her quite evident in his expression. He was so worried about her he could hardly think of anything else.
There was no smile on his face when he saw her though. His expression remained one of concern and a hint of disappointment. It wasn't completely disappointment in Hayley though, but also disappointment in himself for not having been there for her like he'd promised. It was killing him that he'd let this happen. He'd told Hayley that he would always be there, he'd told her that he was going to help her get clean, and now here she was, in jail for getting caught doing drugs again. She looked worse than usual, her knuckles looked quite battered and it seemed like there was something more than just heroine in her system.

Hayley attempted to flip the girl off, then nearly cursed herself out for it. ‘Ya, good idea. Flip off the rape lady. Nice.’ All the inmates were snickering and giggling at Hayley, as they saw how little she was. A few of them yelled at the officers, telling them they should take her back to juvie. Hayley was nineteen, considered legal, so there would be no more of little girl punishments. Now Hayley was in the big leagues, and back there was living proof she couldn’t handle it. Hayley wanted to go home, she wanted to go Charlie’s home. Anywhere but here.
Hayley had a hard time walking. She couldn’t stand up, and practically leaned on one of them to stay walking. She stumbled into the visiting room trying to regain her vision. Hayley never took PCP very well. It was a hard drug, and the amount in that needle was way to much for Hayley. The dealer was lucky she didn’t die right then of an overdose. The high would probably last for a little while, but hell when it did. Hayley almost ran up to Charlie. He was like her angel. He /was/ her life. She hugged Charlie as best as she could trying to stay standing.
She kissed his cheek, practically trying to jump into his arms. ”Love…you..I.” Hayley’s words where a bit mixed, but she tried her best. “He put PCP in the..in the heroine.”

When Hayley threw herself into his arms, Charlie wrapped his around her, both because he was so glad to see she was mostly alright, aside from the drugs, and because he knew she would probably fall on the floor if he didn't hold her up. The two officers stood there staring for a moment until Charlie shot them a glare that said if you don't up and leave I will come over there and beat the crap out of you, and don't think I won't. They believed it, and promptly left the room, giving Charlie and Hayley their privacy. They were getting the idea that it was more than him just caring about her, but something more along the lines of the two of them being in love.
Hayley's words were garbled and mixed up, but he knew what she meant to say. Hayley, He said, hoping that what he said would get through the drugs and into her mind, None of that is good for you. You're lucky it didn't kill you. He knew how afraid she was of dying, but it was true. She could have died. If she had, he wasn't sure what he would have done. Probably tracked down the dealer and killed him. Of course, he was thinking about doing that anyway. No one hurt his Hayley and got away with it. He didn't care who it was, they'd pay for it, and pay for it dearly.
Hayley was more important to him than his own life, and he was somewhat over protective of her. He didn't want anything to happen to her. He didn't think he could handle another tragedy in his life. He lowered himself down onto one of the table benches, leaning his back against the table part, and bringing Hayley with him. Worrying so much about her had sort of taken everything out of him. He felt like he'd just run a marathon five times. In other words, he was exhausted and felt like he had no energy left to do anything. He never thought he could feel this way, but he did, and it took everything right out of him.

”I don’t want to stay here Charlie, I want to go home. The girl tried to rape me Charlie… I don’t like it here…” Hayley said like a child, but that’s how she felt right now. Hayley wanted to go home, and sleep in this bed. She wanted to be knew she was safe, and she wanted to know she was loved. Hayley wanted Charlie, and it lifted her heart knowing she had him, but not right now. She was locked in bars, and it was no human way to life. Hayley felt like an animal. Was she an animal? Hayley screamed slightly and began balling. Her screamed sounded like helplessness more than anything. “I liked it better, when you arrested me.. “ Her speech was slurred once more.
“He fucking tried to make me ‘died’. “ She said, slightly crossing her arms, but staying near him and laying her head on his chest. “ I wanna go to your house and watch stupid love movies, and I wanna make popcorn. I wanna be with you.” Hayley cried a little bit harder, as she kissed him on the cheek. ”Am I going to stay here, forever?” Hayley’s words were jumbled once more, but she didn’t want to stay now. Forever seemed like a long time from now. ”I DON’T WANNA BE A DRUGGIE NO MORE, I WANT TO ME YOUR FUCKING WIFE.” Hayley, when high, normally told people stuff she wrote in her journal. But she told Charlie this dozens of times. Just not like that, never yelling. Her accent was possibly so loud, that others if they really wanted to, would be able to hear.
Hayley didn’t want Charlie to worry anymore. She was able to stay clean when he was around, and jail wouldn’t help her get clean. Possibly die of the worlds worst withdraw. “ I’m going to die here. I’m going to withdrawal. I want to be with you.”

A slight smile came to Charlie's face when she said she liked it better when he arrested her. He knew he had probably been a bit more gentle than that guy he'd slammed against the wall out there. The smile didn't last long though, seeing as how she was now bawling into his chest almost like a child that had just gotten its fingers pinched in a door or something of the sort. He brought his hand up and put it around her shoulders, holding her close to him. For some reason, he felt like he'd been separated from her for way to long...and in reality, he had. That was why she was here now.
You're not staying here forever Hayley, He said reassuringly, though stopped when she started yelling that she didn't want to be a druggie any more and that she wanted to be his wife. Sure she'd said that a lot, but now she was practically screaming it. For the first time, he wasn't sure it was the drugs talking through Hayley or if it was Hayley talking through the drugs. For some reason though, he had a feeling that it was the latter. If that was true, then he wasn't sure what to think. He loved Hayley, but he'd known her for only just over a year, and told her only a few months ago that he loved her. Were things moving to quickly to actually be real?
You're not going to die here Hayley. He said when he regained composure. I'm taking you home. He didn't care if he wasn't going to be given "permission" to take her, he was going to anyway. He knew this place, and knew just exactly where each and every gun was kept, and also knew that there were several within his easy access. He would use them if he had to. Call him a little over the top, overly extreme, whatever you want to, but he didn't care. If she was going to get raped and whatnot here, as well as go through withdrawals like he knew she would, and basically the whole shebang, there was no way he was letting her stay here.
He got back to his feet, with every intention to walk out right there and then with Hayley beside him. This place wasn't doing her any good, she needed to be where she was really truly safe, where he could take care of her. He didn't care if that meant he had to stay up with her all night watching those stupid love movies, he was going to take care of her, and he wasn't going to let anything or anyone come between him and doing so. His mind was made up, and he wasn't going to change it. God help the man who tries to stop him.

Hayley giggled at Charlie, but frowned afterwards. He giggly sounded like one of those ‘high’ acts, it didn’t sound like Hayley. She looked away from him, ashamed of what she just done. “I’m sorry I got high.” . Hayley had an addictive personality, and it was almost impossible for her to quit. Hayley had the heart and passion to get clean, there was no doubt about that. ”Charlie, I don’t want to go to rehab. I want to stay away from you.” Hayley had been to rehab for like what, a day? Before dropping out. She just couldn’t do it. Hayley needed Charlie right there with her.
“I missed you.” Hayley sad sadly, hanging her head down low. She wanted to tell me everything that went on at the party, that many of them were making fun of her, but she didn’t. Hayley didn’t want him to worry. ”I wanna….” She never finished her last words, but didn’t have any clue what she was saying. It reminded her of the night she was arrested by him, because Hayley screamed again. She was a screamer, but this time it was more of ‘I hate myself’ scream, rather than let me go. Hayley loved him so much, and was sure he was the one for her. But what if he wasn’t? No, Hayley was sure he was.
“I don’t wanna die….I wanna stay here with you…” She said again. Hayley kissed his cheek, lovingly. Then she tried to French kiss him, and this time she wouldn’t talk interrupt things.

Charlie was so sure of Hayley's love for him any and all doubts had been erased from his mind. Before, he had wondered if they could last. After all, he had arrested her a few years back. Plus, he was totally against any and all drugs as well as most alcohol, not to mention the fact that he wasn't the sort of person to just love for the sex. Hayley, was into all of it...or at least she had been. She was changing, and he could tell. Perhaps that was what had assured him so much of her love for him. He would have liked to kiss her right there and then, but he refrained from doing so.
Hayley said it all right there, she didn't want to go to rehab. He wasn't going to make her. He would have to do all that he could for her and more now. It was worth it though, it was always worth it when it came to Hayley. I love you Hayley, and because I love you, I won't make you go. It was incredible how much she had changed his life, and how quickly. Now she was his life. Ye, he could function without her, but if she died, he didn't see any reason why he should continue living.
He would have kissed her back, but he had a feeling that the other officers were all watching the security cameras. He also knew that the security log was reviewed every month, and he wasn't going to broad cast to the whole world what went on between him and Hayley. So instead he just brought his hand up to her face and gently pushed her lips away from his. Come on Hayley, I'll take you home now. Of course, by home he meant his house. He wasn't about to take her back to that old trailer she lived in. Plus, she seemed quite bent on staying with him, and he wasn't going to deny her that.

Hayley defiantly loved him. She wasn’t sure he knew that, though she’d told him time and time again that she honestly did. Hayley didn’t think they would last, because all she wanted from Charlie was sex. But then she fell hard for him. Hayley had to be honest with herself, she never fell in love before. All these girls always say ‘I loved him’ when the guy dumped them, but did they really? And if love was this common, why didn’t she ever experience any? She was the one who was in limelight, every told her they loved her. Why couldn’t she say that before? But now Hayley could, because she loved Charlie. “I’m trying to change my life for you.” She said to him, trying to French him again.
Hayley nodded her head, as she continued trying to kiss his lips again. Hayley just wanted a kiss, that was all she was asking for. It would be good enough for now. “I love you Charlie. I love you with what’s left of my heart. I’m in love with you, and I don’t want you ever to forget it.” Hayley looked into his eyes, smiling up at him. Hayley almost never smiled, like that. She was happy to be with him, and she was happy that he was her world. Hayley trusted him, but often wondered if he trusted her.
Hayley totally forgot about the cameras, but she didn’t give a rats ass if they all knew she was dating him. But was Charlie ashamed? Hayley started to think about it for a couple of seconds, and he had a reason to be. Hayley was Hayley, she wasn’t even a human being anymore. Hayley was a druggie. “I want to go home.” She nodded agreeing to him.

It had nothing to do with being ashamed of going out with Hayley, he loved her and didn't care if the whole world knew it. There wasn't a thing in the world that he wouldn't do for her, except to provide her with drugs, alcohol, and loveless sex. Hayley was his whole world and her well being came long before his own. He would take a bullet for her if he had to. It may sound cheesy or corny, but coming from him, that really was a lot. He'd been shot before, and had been in immense pain, he knew what it was like. Up until he met Hayley, getting shot again had been his biggest fear. Now that he had Hayley, losing her had become his biggest fear, and getting shot again seemed like nothing in comparison to the prospect of losing her.
Charlie finally gave in and let the knowledge of the cameras that never ceased to watch him slip from his mind. He put his arms around her, and let her kiss him as she so clearly wanted to. Not only that though, but he kissed her in return. It wasn't the first time they'd kissed, but every time felt like the first time, only better. The passion, the love, and the intense desire to let the other know how much they were loved had grown greatly since the first time. As he had told her time and time again, she wasn't the dream girl he had always wanted, but from the moment he first laid eyes on her, she was the only girl he wanted, the only girl he would ever have, and the only girl that he planned on spending the rest of his life with. Call him crazy for falling for someone like Hayley who seemed bound to get into trouble more than once, but they'd called him crazy for joining the police force , they'd called him crazy for quitting, they'd called him crazy for devoting so much time to the training of Brig, but none of that had stopped him before, and wouldn't stop him now...especially since Hayley was so much more important than all of that.
When she said she wanted to go home, he nodded and started towards the door, keeping his arm around her waist. When they got to the door of the visiting room, the buzzer sounded and the door opened. A slight smile crawled across Charlie's face, he knew that they were just going to let him walk out of there with her. When they arrived at the front, it was strangely deserted. Charlie paused a moment, but noticed a piece of paper lying on the counter. He walked forwards and saw his last name scrawled across it, and a note following. "Here's the release, keep it with you in case they try to take her back." It was signed with the name Charlie. He had to smile. He and that guy shared the same name, which was how he came to be called Parker. They couldn't just call out the name Charlie, because both of them would respond, so he had volunteered to bo by his last name so as to avoid confusion.
Beside the note was the release form, already filled out. It said that Hayley was released due to a medical emergency that required her to be released into the "custody" of former Officer Charles Parker who is fully certified and qualified to "handle" her in any given situation. Charlie took both pieces of paper in his hand, knowing exactly why the front desk was deserted. They'd all left the room so that it wouldn't look like they'd just let him walk like that. There had been no medical emergency, and the officer who'd signed it knew that in doing so he was breaking the law. He knew though, that if asked, they could say that the PCP in the heroin had been too large a dose for her to handle and that she was having extreme withdrawals. Even though she hadn't been, it was a lie that could be easily believed.
I'm going to take care of you Hayley. He said as he turned for the door that would take them out of this place, now and forever, no matter what. I promise. And he meant it too. If she ever left him, he would be heart broken, but if she ever needed him again, he would still be there for her. Promises and such were a serious matter to him, and as far as he knew, he'd never broken one, and he didn't plan on breaking any in the future. Especially not those he made to her.

Hayley didn’t know why she fell for Charlie so had. Was it because he was gorgeous? Or was it because he was the one for her, and fate wanted her to meet him. Hayley had a son, and it was hard to raise him on her own. Maybe fate wanted to find a father, and Hayley thought Charlie was perfect for that job. Hayley loved every bit about him. She loved his eyes, his smile, his body, his personality. Hayley loved him in general, and had a feeling he loved her back. Hayley would go to rehab, if he would be by here every step of the way. But she was in her only personal rehab, and battling with withdraws on her own. Battling with withdraws with Charlie being there, he had that much difference on Hayley’s life. She never ever wanted to get clean, but now she was trying.
Hayley’s heart lifted as Charlie let her kiss him. Hayley placed her arms on his chest, grabbing a hold of his shirt as Hayley did so. She kissed him passionately, and there wasn’t any doubt in Hayley’s mind that this wasn’t real. Was this what a real kiss felt like? Was this real love? Most certainly. Hayley had a next feeling the next kiss would be even better, because they always seemed to be. Hayley didn’t want anything more than Charlie, because he was everything to her. Sex didn’t matter, when she was with him.
Hayley smiled at him as he kept his hands around her. Hayley felt so warm, and so protected. She felt so loved. Hayley was so happy, she wasn’t going to spend the night here, but more so she was going with Charlie. The very man she loved. Hayley looked at the deserted front. “Did I scare them all off?” She said, frowning. Hayley had a feeling the paper had to do with something about making sure they didn’t take her, but she didn’t ask.

Charlie smiled and laughed when Hayley asked if she had scared them all off. He was pretty sure she hadn't. Charlie knew that he could quite easily get into trouble for this, as well as the officers that had been on duty here. They could get in trouble for not having a medical examiner proclaim Hayley unfit for jail, and he could get in trouble for taking her away. He didn't care though. He knew the law inside out, and if it ever went to court, he'd find it relatively easy to defend himself and wouldn't find any sort of lawyer needed. He could take care of himself. That was one of the good things that being a policeman had given him. Any time a new law was introduced that had to do with them, they were required to learn it and know it like the back of their hand. While he may not know all of the laws that had come out since he quit, he knew enough of them that he wasn't worried about it at all.
Not at all. Charlie said, kissing Hayley lightly on the cheek, They all went out for a coffee break. Of course he wasn't serious, and she probably knew that...unless of course through her drugged mind she thought he was serious. Not that it really mattered though, all that matter was that they were letting him walk out of her with Hayley, no questions asked, no hassle, no problems for him whatsoever. That was one of the reasons he admired policemen so much. First of all because he'd been one and knew what it was like to have to go through all that policemen had to, and second of all because they were so understanding. Maybe not all the time, but a lot of the time.
He pushed the door open and stepped out of the bright warm room and into the dimly lit, cold night air. Sure it was summer, but even in the summer the night can be cold, and it certainly was tonight. Too bad "visitor" parking was all the way on the other side of the parking lot. Ah well, they'd survive. He pulled Hayley closer to him, knowing that her thin and basically uninsulated body would get colder a lot faster than he would, and the last thing he wanted was for her to freeze to death while they were out there.
