Driving in her new Silverado she was enjoying the wind with her windows down. The four horse trailer being pulled behind her held her only horses. Three were mustangs and the other was a thoroughbred. The four of them liked each other. But, two of them needed to be worked with big time. In the back seat of the truck sat two pure bred huskies. One female and one male. They were both black. She was planning to start breeding them and selling the puppies to good homes. But, for now they were just her companions for driving and working with the horses.
Pulling into the town finally the dogs had fallen asleep. She knew her horses were getting restless. She hoped to pull into the stable drive way soon so they can get out and stretch their legs. Sheād tie them to the trailer though so they wonāt take off. Sheād trust her dogs to sniff around and stay close but wander around the new place. She hoped she could get her one mare to fit into something with riding soon. She loved training her. But, her temper was not going well with her.
Getting into the drive way she found a spot and parked her truck. She shut it off and jumped out. She let the two dogs out of the back seat. Then made her way to the trailer. She lowered the ramp after unlocking it and entered to lead out Hero first. She got the chestnut gelding tied to the trailer. She was proud of him being all calm and relaxed. She went into the trailer again to unload her good mare, Stormy. She may be a mustang but sheās not as tempermental as the other two mustangs. She got tied to the trailer with hay. Hero had hay as well.
She slowly unloaded a blind folded black mare named, Nilly. This mare would always attack the other horses. She got tied and the blind fold removed and was given a flake of hay as well. The last horse to unload was the mustang stallion that got Stormy pregnant. Xtra was lead from the trailer and tied between Nilly and Stormy. He shared hay with Stormy as she was given three flakes of hay.
āYour all so good. I donāt get why I canāt leave you alone for a while. But, Nilly is mean and picks on all of youā she said. She walked to Stormy to check her belly. āYour almost there, Stormy. Only one month to go. During that night Iāll stay with you. I just hope itās not a still born like last yearā she whispered to her. Stormy nickered. Xtra, Hero and Nilly all nickered as well liking this new place.

Ryan had been at the barn that day, riding his two colts. One colt being a blue roan stud cold, named Blue. It wasn't an original name of course but hell what do you call a blue roan?? Roany? But Ryan tended to call him shorty because the colt stood under 15, but was stocky. The horse could move and work cows very nicely at his age. The other horse would have been a bay filly named Magic. He was probably going to get rid of this horse after getting her started. The main reason being, was she was too scared and nervous to concentrate on doing what Ryan wanted her to do. He couldn't have a horse like that, especially around cows.
He heard a trailer pull up outside when he was putting away Magic and Blue. They had been cooled down already so he just put them in their stalls with some food. He watched them both then walked off to see his two older horses he had. Dunken was an ugly chestnut horse. He probably had the worst comformation on a horse he had seen in a long time. His face was huge like a draft horse and it bulged out. His back was too long, his legs were short, his rump was just funny lookin, his legs were fairly straight though. And he had some pretty good muscling. But he had this horse for a reason that no one knew. He had been abused and neglected so Ryan took him in to train him up and sell him, to show people that not only highly bred horses with perfect comformation could be good at roping.
The other older horse was Bell. She was a dappled grey, thorgouhbred crossed with quarter horse. Wow, was she fast. She was only five but never been started when he got her at four. Now he was just teaching her how to rope a little bit, but has been tempted to put her on the racetrack to see what she could really do witht the lines she had. Running was her passion. Maybe even make her a barrel horse..
After checking Dunken and Bell, he walked outside to see a young lady unloading her horses. He smiled and walked over slowly. One mare looked rather pregnant..one was big and bulky like a stud horse, and the other just looked like a nasty wenchy mare. "Can I help you with anything ma'am." He asked her and watched the horses eat. They were good looking horses though. The two first ones looked like mustangs and he loved mustangs. The other one.. kinda a thoroughbred looking one.

Lara looked and checked over her pregnant mare again. She was proud of her. But, she needed to see a vet big time. She didnāt want problems when the time came for the foal or foals to come. She was proud of her mare very much. The gray mustang mare was nasty now as she was carrying a foal or foals. She was always pushing the gray mustang stallion away from her. She just didnāt want him touching her yet. All that worried Lara was the way her mood changed even couple hours. Right now they were happy eating their hay. The black mustang mare, Silly Nilly Tilly was always picking on Mystic Demon Star. Lara had no idea why.
Looking at Mystic Demon Star she was worried if heād ever learn to be as dominate as Nilly was. She was worried that the three mustangs were mean to him. She loved him. He was gentle with her. She looked down at his legs to check them. His legs were still strong and long from being a young colt. He was still playful too. But, today he wanted to be lazy and eat what he was allowed. She walked to Nilly who looked at her right away and tossed her head almost breaking her lead. But, she was still rude and nasty to every one else. The mare just didnāt get along well with other people yet. But, with her she was fine.
Lara looked up from beside her nasty mare to see him. She noticed him easily as he spoke to her. When he said, Can I help you with anything ma'am, she looked to him quickly. She smiled slightly but noticed that Nilly tensed big time. She quickly put her black face blind fold on her to relax her again so she could eat peacefully. She walked away from Nilly and over to him. Actually I think you can. I was wondering where I could put them. They need somewhere warm as it is winter. One needs to see a vet sometime this month as she is due to foal next month. But, other than that they need a place to sleep, relax and stay she said.
She looked to Stormy again and sighed. She wanted the mare to have an okay first birth. She also needed to continue training Nilly who didnāt trust others so always had a black face blind fold on to keep her calm and relaxed. Hero and Xtra were the ones not to worry about. Even though Hero meant so much to her as Stormy did. Actually they all meant the same amount but she worried about them more than she should.

But, other than that they need a place to sleep, relax and stay She told him when he asked if she needed anything. Ryan was a nice guy, ready to settle down from being rather wild. He had a couple close calls with getting girls pregnant.. he still thought the one girl had his baby..but she obviously didn't bug him about it. He had quit parties for the most part and quit smoking.
"Ya, there is room inside. I will go see if they are ready to go..you can come along if you want." He told her smiling. "There is a vet down the road, just go in and get an appointment tomorrow." He said to her smiling agian. She looked at the horses again eating. The one that was blindfolded needed some work. If she had to do that to it to keep it chill, it must have some issues of some sort. But back to teh girl, she was very pretty...she looked like someone Ryan would go for.
He stuck his hands in his pockets to keep himself from touching her, another bad habit..was getting a little to frisky with girls. That was defianatly a fight for him to quit...the urge was there all the time. But he knew he had to quit before he actually went to jail for raping or attempting rape.. or sexual battery or whatever like he had been close to getting a few times before. He really just wanted to get married and have a couple kids..and train horses. He looked at her and waited for a response on whether she wanted to go inside with him or not.

Lara looked at him again. She wasn't sure what to say now. Since she knew she'd have to know where the stalls were she'd need to go with him. She was basically wanting to get to know him better. She felt good deep down having met a guy on her first day to this new town. She didn't even have a home yet. She would stay in her horse trailer which had a bedroom, small kitchen, bathroom and television inside. But, it would be cold for her. She wouldn't risk asking a guy she just met to share it with her for one night or possibly more.
She had heard what he said, Ya, there is room inside. I will go see if they are ready to go..you can come along if you want. She would awnser that. "I'll come with you" she said. She wanted to be sure Nilly, Stormy Hero and Xtra would be happy in the barn. She had t be sure they would be okay. She then glanced to see Stormy not looking so good and looking at her side. She knew it was just the foal or foals kicking or moving. She knew the mare had morning sickness.
She looked at him again hearing him speak about the vet clinic, There is a vet down the road, just go in and get an appointment tomorrow. She knew what to do about this. "Hopefully if they have room for another horse they can check her over tomorrow if I take her. I don't know if she's having contractions now by looking at her. But, it may be just the foal or foals moving around" she said.
She looked to Nilly now as the mare finished her hay and was looking around as she could see but not very good wearing the blind fold. Nilly hated it but had to wear it around others. Lara was working on getting the mare used to others by working hard with her alone. But, everytime she got someone close enough to touch her she spooked and almost hurt her.

Ryan could kinda tell this girl relaly didn't have much. No place to keep horses and no place to keep herself. Well the living quarters in her trailer but that always sucked to live in. He did during the summer just because he was a rodeo man and traveled alot in the summer. It wasn't very fun with just one person. It was rather boring. But sometimes you did what you had to get by. Mean while she agreed to come with him. He started walking into the rather large barn having to walk clear across the barn to find the open stalls. They were some of the other stalls but they were bigger then the newer ones so that would be good for her pregnant horses.
"Hopefully if they have room for another horse they can check her over tomorrow if I take her. I don't know if she's having contractions now by looking at her. But, it may be just the foal or foals moving around" she told him. He nodded not knowing alot about pregnant mares.. and the ones he had he didn't have to take to the vet they just did what they needed to do by themselves. "He is usually open to drop-ins. You just might have to wait a little longer then the ones with appointments." He told her smiling.
He got to the open stalls and walked in. "They are all bedded and got hay ready to go. They have automatic water so you don't have to worry about that. These old stalls are bigger then the new ones and cheaper. My horses are just on the other side here so I will be seeing you alot." He said smiling at himself for making a comment like that. "Oh, I don't know if you have a place to stay in town.. or if you're planning on living in the living quarters in your trailer..but I have another room in my house you can use." He said to her.
His house was just a small two bedroom motor home. Nothing fancy with just him living in it. But he kept the guest room up and what not because his buddies liked to stay over sometimes. But he figured he would put it to better use and atleast she would have a decent place to stay. And food on teh table so she could get some good rest. "That's if you would feel comfortable enough to sleep at a strangers house." He winked playfully. And just stood watching her waiting for a reply to his offer.

Lara looked to the stalls knowing it would be good for her one mare. This way if the foal comes early the stall is big enough for them both. She looked at him again. She listened to what he had to say and started to think about his offer to his second bedroom in his house. She thought it was a great offer. Even if she didn't know him. But, deep down she didn't think it was a good idea. She thought about what if this got intence with her life and she needed to leave. She had no idea what to do. It wasn't like she had a boyfriend or anything. But, in her mind she wanted to settle down with one guy for a while.
She looked to him and then outside to her trailer. She knew what she had to say. "I can accept your offer. It gets pretty cold in my trailer. So, it'd be nice the have somewhere to stay. This way I don't worry about myself and just my horses. But, I hope you don't mind having two dogs around" she said. Her two huskies ran up and sat down on either side of her. Luna was a black female huskey and Doc was the same.
She knew tomorrow she'd take the dogs with her as well. She wanted to make sure it would be okay to breed them. Also she hoped her mare didn't foal tonight. She'd want to be there. She needed to sleep though tonight as she had been sleeping in a cold trailer for a month now trying to find this town. She leaned down to her dogs and gave them dog treats from her pockets. She knew her dogs helped her with everything. Even if they didn't help keep her warm in her trailer.
She knew she had to bring the horses in. She hoped maybe this guy would be able to help by taking Xtra for her. She trusted herself with Nilly. She always allowed her dogs to help bring the horses in. So as always Luna would lead in Stormy but slowly. Doc would get Hero as they both got along ad would refuse to be apart in pasture as they played alot.

"I can accept your offer. It gets pretty cold in my trailer. So, it'd be nice the have somewhere to stay. This way I don't worry about myself and just my horses. But, I hope you don't mind having two dogs around" She told him when he had offered her to stay at his place. Of course he wasn't going to like seduce her.. if she wanted anything sexual that would have to be up to her. He wasn't in no hurry. "Dog's don't bother me at all. I gotta Pit Bull at home named Pharoah. But he won't hurt your dogs or you.. he wil just lick you to death and wanna be friends with your dogs.. so no worries." He told her and smiled.
"I will help you with your horses if you want." He offered and started walking back toward the door and outside to the trailer. He looked at the horses just waiting for this young lady to to tell him which one figuring they were kinda funny about who touched them. He didn't want to create problems or anything so he waited patiently. Then he smiled and looked back to her and held out his hand. "I'm Ryan Wesley by the way." He told her. He had totally forgotten his manners. He looked to her then to her horses again.
"I had a mustang once. His name was Toenapa. He was big and black.. he was a really nice rope horses, really fast and sturdy. But he sure liked to pull back and wig out on the ground." He said smiling. "Horse finally died of old age about 5 years ago..I had him when I was a freshman and sophmore" He told her smilling. His dad had bought that horse just so Ryan could win money at rodeos, and he did of course. But his family kinda fell apart after Toenapa died. But that was a whole different subject he didn't want to think about at the moment.

Lara followed him back outside. Luna and Doc right behind her to help too. She looked over the horses carefully. She knew it would be safer if she took Nilly in. She knew Hero and Stormy would be okay with others. Xtra was okay with others too. She looked to her dogs knowing they helped her alot too. "My name is Lara Tannor. You could take in my mustang stallion, Xtreme Rated. He doesn't mind others leading him. It's Silly Nilly Tilly that worries me with others. My dogs will bring in Hero and Stormy for me. They always do" she said.
Luna and Doc went to sit next to Stormy and Hero. Lara went and untied Xtra and walked him over. The mustang stallion didn't mind at all. He took on look at the guy and tried to push Lara into him. It didn't work. Lara had a firm grip on his halter and lead. She glanced to Nilly who looked relaxed while watching this. She hoped maybe training would help Nilly get used to others. Stormy and Hero were still eating so it was okay to let the dogs take their time bringing them.
This is why she loves her dogs. Her dogs were gently and loving towards her. "I have to warn you about my dogs being in a house though. They like to sleep in beds with people. It's good to have a husky around during the winter. They are always warm. But, it's good to have them around for anything. They like to try and help do things" she said. Luna and Doc both barked hearing what Lara was saying about them.
She held out Xtra's lead to Ryan. "I worked with mustangs most of my life really. They are good horses to have. I barrel race them and they love to run. It's in their blood and their hearts" she sad. She loved talking about her three mustangs. Especially Stormy as she was pregnant with Xtra's foal or foals.

"My name is Lara Tannor. You could take in my mustang stallion, Xtreme Rated. He doesn't mind others leading him. It's Silly Nilly Tilly that worries me with others. My dogs will bring in Hero and Stormy for me. They always do" She told him. He took the stud horses lead and smiled rubbing his neck . "Hey there fella..how you doin?" He asked and smiled to her. "And it was nice to meet you." He told her and walked the stud horse inside the barn towrad the stalls.
He led him in the far one and shut the door behind him a little then let him go. He stepped out and shut and locked the door. He watched the horses reaction to the new stall. He looked to Lara and the other horses helping her with the ones he could hold without them freaking out. "I have to warn you about my dogs being in a house though. They like to sleep in beds with people. It's good to have a husky around during the winter. They are always warm. But, it's good to have them around for anything. They like to try and help do things" She told him about her dogs. He smiled and shrugged.
Really it was nothing to have a dog on the bed. He didn't care..his dog came in at night and slept with Ryan. But other then that he stayed outside. But if her dogs were use to being indoors then he would allow them to be indoors. His dog always liked to shit in the house when he left so he just rather have him outside. "Oh thats fine. I don't care much about the dogs. Just havce to make sure I vacuum everyday to keep the hair down on my floors." He told her grinning. Yes, Ryan was kinda a clean freak when it came down to keeping his house looking nice...or anything looking nice.
"I worked with mustangs most of my life really. They are good horses to have. I barrel race them and they love to run. It's in their blood and their hearts she told him.. He nodded smiling. That was for sure. They were great animals with the right training. "So what do you do with these horses?? Do you rodeo? I am a calf roper, team roper, bull rider, bronc rider..I have shown horses in reining and cutting too. Anything with livestock I'm all for." He said smiling. After all the horses were in he turned to her. "Anything else you need help with before I show you to my wonderful home?" He asked being sarcastic about his house.. it wasn't wonderful but it was nice.

Lara sighed and ran a hand down Nilly's face before putting her in a stall. She made sure Stormy and Hero were put away. Luna and Doc ran out to the trailer and inside to eat some kibble. Lara looked at Stormy as she lay in the stall unlike Hero, Xtra and Nilly who were looking around the new place. She didn't like how Stormy was actting today. It made her think the foal was due tonight. "With Xtra I barrel race. With Hero I rope. Nilly is my mare that's a trick one. Stormy is my second barrel racer. But, with her pregnant and due next month she's not ridden. But, every chance I get I go to the rodeos and enter with Xtra, Hero and Nilly" she said.
She looked to her watch. She had to un hock her trailer, and put tack in the tack room. "I still have to unhook my trailer and bring in all my tack. My dogs would help but they went to eat something. I promise to make sure they don't go to the bathroom in your house. I always get told when they have to go. They bark at me and stand near the door. When left along I put them in a kennal outside. Actually I have the kennal in the truck bed of my truck. It just needs set up. Maybe this way the dogs can become friends when home alone" she said.
She looked down. She knew every time she got nervous she always talked about her dogs and horses more than herself. She was doing that now. "Once I get what I need done you can show me to your home. This way I know how to get there and back from here. I have to be here every day and maybe once in a while at night to watch Stormy. I don't like her being alone not knowing when that foal is going to come" she said. She was nervous still. But, it was just her. She fixed her hat and sighed. She felt good having her horses here where they had more room to do things in there stalls. Even Stormy as she would need room with the foal.

But, every chance I get I go to the rodeos and enter with Xtra, Hero and Nilly" she said. He smiled to her and was happy that she was also a rodeo person.. they could travel together once summer hits. That would make a relationship much easier if they were together. "Nice, that's cool you got horses to do everything." He told her.
"I still have to unhook my trailer and bring in all my tack. My dogs would help but they went to eat something. I promise to make sure they don't go to the bathroom in your house. She really shouldnt' be nervous though. He wasn't going to do anything...unless in this case she liked him. "Ya that may work. My dog ain't mean toward other dogs so I'm sure they will be fine." He told her.
"Once I get what I need done you can show me to your home. This way I know how to get there and back from here. I have to be here every day and maybe once in a while at night to watch Stormy. I don't like her being alone not knowing when that foal is going to come" She said about the stuff she still had to do. "I will go and help you with that." He said and yawned a little. He walked toward her trailer with her and grabbed a bunch of tack to take into the tack room. He kept his stuff in his trailer where he could keep his stuff locked up. But that was just him.
As he helped her, he spoke. "You don't have to be nervous you know.. He told her and smiled and kept at getting her stuff into the tack room. Once finished he stood by the trailer. "Okay, I'm gonna go check horses really fast and I will be back over to show you to my house." He said and walked down the aisle. He got to his horses checked them out and everything. Then he did the same to hers, thinking they looked the same. So he started walking back, looking in other stalls to just in case.

Lara sighed and made sure the tack was fine. She was worried about Stormy again. She sighed again and looked to see her dogs sitting near her truck ready to get going. She wasn't worried about them. She was worried about losing herself in time with her own heart. She knew her heart wanted her to speak her mind as to why she was nervous. She was more afraid of saying her feelings. It was her past that ruined everything for her. She didn't want people to think she was always nervous around people. That's why she was in rodeos. She kept her mind off everything.
Luna and Doc were always in her trailer with her. She had tons of room in her trailer for more than four horses. It was a trailer build for twenty horses. Also inside the living quarters were two places to sleep. She hoped if they did travel together during the summer it would easier to take one truck and trailer than taking both. She wasn't as nervous knowing he was a bit easy to talk to. She thought why not give a relationship a try for one in her life. She turned looking for him again.
"I was only nervous due to the fact that I actually like you. I don't know why though. I only met you today and I already like you. But, since we both do rodeo in the summer we may as well use my truck and trailer as there is alot of room for more horses and room for two people to sleep in the living quarters" she said. She knew it would be cheaper on gas that way too. But, this time didn't talk so much. She wasn't as nervous as she said why she had been so nervous.

Ryan was a nice guy all together. He liked to talk to people and get to know them. He wasn't antisocial, which is probably why he had had so many girlfriends in his lifetime. Not all of them were good, not all were bad..some were in between. But most of them were for sex and really nothing else. He regretted doing that, he really did. He wanted to change so he could get married someday and have a few kids. He really just wanted to settle down with someone he actually loved.
Now, resisting the urge to kiss her right now was hard. He was so use to kissing right away, but he was scared she may run away from him. He didn't want that, so later maybe before bed he would kiss her good night. "I was only nervous due to the fact that I actually like you. I don't know why though. I only met you today and I already like you. But, since we both do rodeo in the summer we may as well use my truck and trailer as there is alot of room for more horses and room for two people to sleep in the living quarters" she told him.
What she said made him go pink in the cheeks. Ok, she liked him. That was a good thing. He had a good thing going. "I like you too. And for teh truck and trailer thing, we will see. Your living quarters is just a tad big for me, and I like driving.. and in my own truck." He said joking around with her a little bit. But it was kinda true. He hated girls driving and he hated driving other peoples rigs. "Well, I will help you back up your trailer and get it unhooked so we can hed off." He told her and walked outside to help her.
Once that was finished she walked to her truck door and opened her door. "Ok, it's unhooked and ready to leave. I will get in my truck and you follow me." He said giving her a smile, still resisting the urge to kiss her. He shut her door and walked off to his blue dodge truck...one of the new ones with big tires and a turbo..and some stacks. He got in and turned it on. He backed out and started on the road, taking a few turns then pulled up in his driveway, leaving room for her truck too.
He got out and walked to her truck and opened the door for her and helped her out. "It's small but it's nice." He told her smiling and helping her with her bags and walked inside and set them in the room she would be sleeping in. He turned on the light so she could see. "This is where you will be sleeping, unless you would like to sleep with me. Either way is fine." he said smirking alittle. "I promise I don't bite." He chuckled. He walked out and looked through his fridge to warm up some leftovers for her to eat before she went to bed.
"Are you hungry?" he hollered to her. And took out some chicken and tators and started warming up the tators. He turned on the tv to watch the news. He looked at his phone seeing a bunch of girls had texted him. He just erases them not wanting to talk right now.. because he had a girl with him that he just may have a chance with. He wasn't gonna lose this chance.

Lara looked around the room. She looked to Luna and Doc who lay on the bed. She knew that they were telling her to take a chance and share a bed with him to see if it would work for her. But, she knew tonight she needed to just sleep. Luna and Doc jumped from the bed and left the room. She followed knowing they were getting hungry for kibble that was still out in her truck. She would go get in in a few minutes. She wanted to talk with Ryan some more. She followed the dogs to where Ryan was in the kitchen. She smelled the air and sighed softly. She liked the smell of warming food.
"I think my dogs agree with my heart. I'll share your bed. But, tonight I just need sleep. I did drive a long way alone to get to this lovely town. Also, I've very hungry" she said. Luna and Doc were sniffing around. They knew tomorrow before she headed to the barn again she'd set up their kennal for outside. They liked the kennel. Since Doc was taught to not breed Luna it was okay. He just played with her anyways.
Lara wasn't nervous anymore to be around him. Her dogs noticed and walked right to Ryan and looked up at him wagging their tails. The two were both black and white huskeys. The two were never far from Lara's side. Unless she left them home. But, most of the time she took them everywhere. Lara watched her dogs. She was glad things were starting to fit together. She just hoped being with him wouldn't mean doing the nasty every night.
She wanted more out of a relationship. She was looking for someone who would stick with her for a long time. She hated being alone all the time. It made her hurt inside. She felt better knowing she could share a bed with someone who might take things a bit fast but slow enough to please her.
