Sydney Montgomery wasn't the sort of person who was outwardly afraid of anything, but when she had realized that there was a chance she had just been impregnated, fear had seized her mind, and had been clearly visible to anyone who saw her. The past two weeks she had been a bit of a wreck. Yes, Ryan Wesley had been there... and she might possibly have started liking him a bit... but Andrew had been there for her too, and she might possibly have started liking him a bit too. Now not only was she afraid that she was pregnant, but she was also afraid that she might have fallen for two guys at the same time and that she would have to eventually choose one or the other or just neither all together. No matter which way she played it out in her mind she had a horrible daunting feeling that she was going to end up hurting one of them... and that was the last thing she wanted. She'd seen her dad hurt by her m... that woman... and she didn't want to do that to any man. Even if she pretended to not care, she really did
After she had finally come out and asked Andrew and he confirmed her fear, she was relatively certain that she was in fact Pregnant, and the two weeks had just been up. She'd taken the pregnancy test... scratch that... she had taken several pregnancy tests just to be sure, this morning, and couldn't stand the anticipation of waiting to find out if she really was pregnant... Everyone has their ways of coping with stress, and Sydney's was to ride until she felt like she was going to fall right out of the saddle. Of course, riding a horse while stressed out could end poorly for most people, but Sydney wasn't most people. Monty seemed to understand her... he seemed to know what she was going through, and to do his best to take care of her. She knew she could trust him to keep her secrets. Of course, he was just a horse, but to Sydney he was so much more than that... he was her life line.
She had currently been riding for about four hours, and she was praising Monty's stamina. No, she wasn't really riding him hard, that would just be cruel, and there was no way she could be mean to Monty in any way. He had worked up a heavy sweat though, partially because of the heat and partially because of the work, but as always he just kept right on going. He knew it was what his girl wanted, and he was going to do just exactly that. Monty seemed to always be looking out for Sydney. He was quite over-protective of her, and would get defensive when strangers came around her... especially men. Even though her fear of men never showed to the human kind, Monty knew that for whatever reason she was afraid of them. Occasionally he would get a tad bit aggressive towards them if they seemed to pose any sort of threat. He wasn't going to let anyone hurt his human.
In return for his taking care of her like he did, Sydney spoiled him rotten. She knew that people said it was bad to spoil your horse, but she didn't care. Monty was her baby and she was his girl, the relationship they had was more than just horse and rider, it was like two best friends that had known one another all their lives. If the horse could talk they would probably finish one another's sentences. If he was human they would probably always be together. The strange thing about Monty was that he seemed to be Sydney's horse, and her horse only. He downright refused to even acknowledge the treats other people offered him, and if in the off chance he did acknowledge them, it would be by lifting his head high into the air, pinning his ears, and huffing haughtily as if what they offered him wasn't good enough for him. He usually didn't accept treats from Sydney either though... his hay and grain and some pasture grass was all he wanted.
He refused to have anyone besides Sydney handle him, and if anyone tried, they would find out just how stubborn a horse could be. Monty was big and muscular, and no one could force him to do something he didn't want to. When he planted his feet and stood his ground... good luck getting him to move. Of course, there were a few people he would tolerate moving him from his stall to the pasture and simple things like that, but nothing else. If someone he didn't know came anywhere near him with a brush or a hoof pick or something of the sort, they'd be in for quite a battle... and odds were Monty would win. He would let the stable employees move him in and out of his stall and the pasture, but nothing more. Sydney was his handler, no ands ifs or buts about it, and if anyone else tried to ride him... oh there would be hell to pay. Yes he was spoiled, and the world's brattiest horse, but Sydney loved him to death, and he was always perfect for her... always.
Finally when Sydney had finally managed to de-stress herself for the time being, she pulled Monty to a stop, and dismounted. She was exhausted, and just slumped down onto the dirt, not caring that she was undoubtedly getting filthy. Just as she expected, Monty moved so he was standing over top of her, left hooves on her right side, and his right hooves on her left. He lowered his head down towards her, brushing his velvety lips over her face softly, and earning a bright full-fledged smile and a laugh from the girl. Monty was the only one who ever saw that smile of hers, and he was the only one who ever heard her laugh... other people... no, never, unless she didn't know they were there watching and listening. She reached her hands up, and pushed his head away, and he ever so carefully repositioned himself so he was no longer standing over top of her as she sat up into a cross legged position.
People say that animals cannot love, that they are incapable of it... and while I will agree that animals cannot love in the same way as a man and a woman love each other, but Monty and Sydney were more than enough proof that animals can, in fact, love. For whatever Monty's reasons for looking after Sydney like he did, it was clear to any beholder that the animal loved the girl. Every move he made around her was made with caution to avoid hurting her. Every time he touched her it was an affectionate caress. They were almost like a mare and her first foal years after the colt grew up. Sure Sydney loved Hobo and Taz and Gyp as well, but Monty was certainly her favorite, and yes, he did get special treatment because of that. But could you blame her? This horse had been there for her through everything. I love you baby... She said softly, taking the reins and pulling his head towards her to kiss his muzzle.
To anyone who saw this scene play out, they might be thoroughly confused, and possibly think something was wrong. After all, it wasn't too often you saw a girl practically collapse into the dirt, and a sweat soaked horse stand almost on her, but it wouldn't take long for Pinewood's residents to get used to said scene. Sydney got herself all stressed out a lot, and this routine was a familiar one to the girl and horse. Monty maneuvered himself around her so that he was behind her, and lay down in the dirt next to her, so her back was against his ribs, and draped his thick neck over her shoulder, pressing his chin to her stomach. The horse honestly couldn't understand anything that was going on, but he had learned a long time ago, back when he was a yearling and Sydney was just 15 and training him, that Sydney liked this position, and he would do anything to please her. No, it wasn't normal horse behavior to do something like this of their own free will... but then again, the relationship between girl and horse wasn't really what most people would consider "normal." He was possessive of her, much like a wild stallion would be of the foals in his herd. It was just an instinct that she needed him, and like every domesticated horse, he needed a human to look after him. They were a give and take pair, and they were perfect for each other.

Ryan was just out and about on a trail on Dude, his buckskin rope horse. He was just enjoying the sun and enjoying the nature around him. He had to have some time to think about what was all going on in his life at the moment. He hadnt' been here all that long and he already was falling for Sydney. It really wasn't for Ryan to like girls like he liked her. But not everything was normal. He looked around and patted Dude's neck. He wove through the trees, heading back to the stables. He looked around and sighed a little bit and studied the ground as they walked past.
First off, he was falling for Sydney. That there was like a big pig sitting on his shoulders. He wasn't sure what to do about it. He had this feeling that some how or another she might break his heart. She might not mean it, or she might. But there was a good chance she would. Then there was the fact that she was most likely pregnant. It wasn't his kid.. or it could be. He wasn't sure and he was thinking she really didn't know either. But Ryan had told her that he would be there for her if she needed anything, anything at all. He was there to lean on, he would help her in just about anyway he could. He thought about backign down and telling her he couldn't. But he made that promise and wasn't going to break it.
Second, rodeo season was coming around the corner Yes, he needed to get practicing up and trying out for pros this coming week. That meant he had to start riding bulls just about every night, every other night for practice and roping everyday. God, he was going to be so tired he is not going to want to move. He's just going to want to sleep. This was hard on him, because if he didnt' make it he wasn't going to take it lightly on himself. He was just going to push himself to the limit and just may hurt himself doing it. That meant there woudl have to be somewhere there to stop him from going to far. And when I mean going to far, that means riding bulls all night until he can't move.. roping till his horse wants to pass out. Ya, he takes this stuff kind of seriously.
So he had a big plate full of food that most likely couldn't be eaten. He was worried about everything at the moment. He was almost to the stables when he looked up to the arena and saw a girl.. and a horse. The girl and horse both looked very familiar. He smiled to himself, it was Sydney Montgomery. Just the person he wanted to see. He saw her get off and just plop herself down in teh dirt. He smiled a little and the horse had straddled her like some man woudl do. He slowed his horse down a little bit making him walk to the barn and not trot or jig. He stopped and got off and tied his horse up inside the barn to cool down a little bit. He unsaddled him and left him there and walked outside. He walked to the arena and leaned against the fence.
He studied the girl and the horse. They had a bond like no other he had seen. That was what you called best friends. He said nothing for the longest time, jsut watching them. He heard faint laughs and saw a faint smile on her face. He smiled to himself, glad to see she was happier. Last time he saw her she was depressed, that of course changed after going to bed with her. He was kind of worried about her. He wondered how she was doing now. Of course she was probably seeing that other guy and was fine and dandy and he was probably going to get shit thrown in his face.. he hoped that didn't happen, he liked Sydney. He didn't want to get thrown into shit by her. He whistled and watched for their reactions, still leaning against the fence with his arms.

Even if Sydney had wanted to, there was no way she could explain to anyone why her horse was so special to her... it was mostly because she didn't know why herself. Maybe it was because he had been the one that was there when she was raped...because he was the one she cried on, because in his gentle silence she could find a comfort that no human had ever been able to impart to her. She loved her dad, yes, and he had been there for her more than any other human had been, but somehow it just wasn't the same. Maybe it was because of her fear of men that the horse became her best friend... she knew she had nothing to fear with Monty, he wouldn't ever take advantage of her, and all he ever wanted from her was what any horse would want from a human. A gentle hand and the basic needs of life. He never expected more than that from her.
Anyone who observed Sydney from day to day would see that she was almost a completely different person when she was around people and when she was alone with her horse. When she was around people, she was that hot and sexy girl who was only interested in sex and physical intimacy... That cowgirl who had no heart, who really was just a bitch who didn't care about anyone or anything except herself. But when she was alone with Monty... or at least thought she did... it was almost as if she got the innocence back that she had lost so long ago. There was a sweet caring young lady who did enjoy the simple pleasures in life outside of sex. When she was alone with that horse, that was the only time she was really honestly herself, when she wasn't hiding who she really was. The horse brought out the best in her.
Though it may not seem it to people who saw her, Sydney really was a sweet girl underneath all of everything she put up as a front to make people believe she was something she really wasn't. Maybe it was that which seemed to draw the animal kind to her. The stray cat who became Monty's stable buddy, the stray dog who became Sydney's ever constant companion at home, and the wild little kiger that no one wanted because he wasn't manageable. It seemed only those who weren't of the human species could really see who she was and understood her, and she liked it that way. None of them would ever turn her fears around and bring them back to haunt her. They needed her, she needed them... it was just the kind of relationship that she always wanted, and since she had it, she saw no reason to continue looking.
Monty and Sydney just stayed there in the dirt in that position, Monty sort of almost hugging Sydney to himself, and Sydney's arms wrapped around his head. That was when they heard the whistle coming from the outside of the arena. Sydney looked up quickly, and Monty leapt up to his feet, as always, careful not to step on Sydney in the process, and deliberately positioned himself between Sydney and whoever it was that had intruded on them without being detected. There was that over protectiveness again. He stood there firmly, his head held high and ears pinned, his wide eyes locked on Ryan, and his nostrils flared. He had met Ryan once or twice, but only very briefly, so to the horse, he was still a stranger, and a man that seemed to be taking particular interest in them. Normally that was a bad thing... Monty's trust wasn't an easy thing to earn.
In the brief moment before Monty had obstructed her vision of whoever it was over there, Sydney had thought she recognized the other person, though it had been such a fleeting glance she couldn't be sure. So she reached up and grabbed the stirrup on Monty's saddle and pulled herself up onto her feet, dusting herself off as best she could... which wasn't much. Shh, Monty it's alright... she murmured to the horse as she took the reins in her hand and stepped around to the other side of him. As soon as the presence of another human had been made known, Sydney's smile and innocent demeanor disappeared and was replaced with her usual sexy devilish attitude. She wasn't ready for anyone else to know that side of her just yet, especially not with the way the past two weeks had gone for her.
When she recognized Ryan, that smirk of hers appeared, and she walked over towards him. As she did so, a horrible thought hit her. What if she hadn't gotten pregnant from Andrew but had gotten pregnant from one of the two times with Ryan? Oh God she was in a bind now... She hadn't even thought of that. How could she be so stupid as to not think that through. She was in a shit load of trouble now, and she wasn't sure she wanted to deal with it. So for now she was just going to say it was Andrew's, and she would have a paternity test later to find out if it really was. She couldn't deal with the uncertainty right now. Sure she would feel horrible if it turned out to be Ryan's and she had lied to them all that time, but she had enough on her plate for now as it was, she didn't need to add that on top of it all.
Hey... She said as she approached him, Monty following along closely behind her, breathing down her neck like an over protective best guy friend would when she was meeting a new boyfriend candidate. That animal certainly was her protector, and she knew that as long as she stayed close to him nothing would ever happen to her. Even as sweaty and probably quite tired as Monty was at the moment, she didn't doubt that if anyone tried to hurt her the horse would kill them. That was one thing she loved about him... he protected her unconditionally.

Ryan couldn't tell people that didn't like horses how he felt most of the time. It was complicated and all he usually said was, They are like my best friend. Always there." People would look at him like he was crazy, but it was true. Horses were there, and you fought each other sometimes like human friends do. You had your good times as well, just like human friends do. So it was all very the same, but some people had a hard time thinking that way. But for Ryan, he kind of knew the love between Sydney and her horse. He didn't know all of it, but he had a pretty good idea.
He noticed that when the horse finally noticed he was out, the horse got up and pinned his ears. Ryan knew the horse had been protective from his last approach to Sydney. But if he remembered right, the horse did take his treat.. rather quickly. But he took it. Ryan understood where the horse was going. He was a best friend and he was protecting Sydney from harm. With Ryan though, he wouldnt' have to worry. But the horse didn't know that.
'Hey.." She told him as she came up. Her usual smirk on her face, not a smile he faintly saw in the distance. "How you doing. Haven't seen you in a couple days." He told her and gave her one of his crooked smiles. He looked at Monty and just kind of watched him from the corner of his eyes because he was watching Sydney, for reactions. He knew she had alot on her plate, bigger stuff then he did. Well, sort of. In his opinion they were about the same. She was pregnant with someone's baby. And he could be the father and he has to start rodeo soon.. along with Sydney. Yep, this baby was affecting them all. Even though Sydney was good at hiding her feeligs, by looking in her eyes he could see the slight stress she had been having. It kind of worried him. He wanted to help, but really there was nothing he could do.. or was there?

Daddy seriously... unless you want to kill Mr. Peters which would lead to him not buying our beef, us not getting the money, and the whole ranch going down the drain, you'll let me do the cooking. Yes, ten year old Sydney was playing house again... only for Sydney, it wasn't just playing, it was reality. Life had been rough in the past few years with the beef market raking in fewer and fewer dollars per farm due to a massive overload of cattle ranches. This was their big break though, Mr. Peters was the owner and managed of one of the country's largest slaughterhouses and beef product distributors, and he was expressing interest in buying their cattle, and would be coming tonight for dinner and a "chat" about pricing and all that good stuff. Unfortunately, Sydney's dad had never been able to cook anything without someone getting sick from it. Some men just don't have the touch.
Sydney I think I can handle it. [/s] He responded, looking down at the girl who stood there with a very matter of fact expression on her face, one hand on her hip, and the other held out towards him in a way that demanded the spatula he held in his hand. Oh I'm sure you can handle it, but I don't think there's a human alive whose stomach could... She said in that smart ass "I'm know I'm right" ten year old way, then glanced over at their old hound dog, and pointed to the animal, Even Harley wouldn't eat those rocks... I mean "biscuits" that you made last time. Of course he couldn't argue with that, and with a laugh handed her the spatula and made his exit. His little girl was going to make some man a great wife someday... but they'd have to come through fire and brimstone to take her away from him. Out of everything that Sydneys mom had failed to teach her, cooking was not one of them. She had always enjoyed helping out in the kitchen, and as with everything Sydney did, she learned by watching. As much as she hated the woman, she had to admit that she had been a genius in the kitchen. Sydney wouldn't call herself a genius, but she was a hell of a lot better than her dad had been. She supposed she probably had to thank her mom for she and her dad being so close considering after she left the two of them bonded a lot more. Sydney was determined to be the extreme opposite of what her mother had been. She was going to be the cool mom, the one that the kids loved, the one that they looked up to. If she had to change every last thing about herself she was going to be a mother to her kids, and that was that. She would be a good mom no matter what. I think I'm okay for now... She said honestly. She didn't even want to think about the pregnancy tests awaiting her at home right now. She had managed to get her mind mostly off of it, and she didn't want to have to go through that process again. Monty had been worked hard enough, and Hobo... well, he wasn't trained enough to do this sort of thing with her, and he wasn't nearly as understanding as Monty was. She loved Hobo, but she hadn't had him for very long, and they weren't as close as she and Monty were. So since she had used her "de-stress" card for the day, she was just going to have to do her best to not think about it until she absolutely had to when she went home tonight. This could possibly be her last chance to live as she had before any of this happened, and she was going to. For one last day she was going to be that carefree cowgirl she had always been. She made certain to keep one hand on the reins while standing there. She could tell Monty was holding a grudge towards Ryan for sneaking up on them, and that horse could hold grudges longer than any human Sydney had ever met. He was such a brat... and she knew it was her fault, but she didn't care too terribly. That horse was her world, and she was going to spoil him rotten no matter what anybody said. He was her horse, and he always behaved himself for her, so she saw no reason not to. He really was a picky thing, both in the humans he favored and in the food he ate. Even Sydney couldn't explain why, but she loved it, and wasn't going to try to change it. They say that animals are true judges of character, and Sydney believed that whole heartedly.

Ryan had been in the kitchen alot in his childhood. He helped with dinner all the time with his mom. But of course his mom wasn't the best cook, but atleast he knew how to cook without burning all of it, or making it so it was totally disgusting. He cooked decently, but not wonderfully. He cooked him food every now and then but usually lived on tv dinners just because he didn't feel like cooking, or he was so freaking busy he couldn't spend an hour or so cooking for himself.
Ryan wasn't sure if he would be a good dad or not. To him, he would way over protective. Then the kids would hate him because he wouldn't let them go out and do things with their friends. But he had a reason for that, seeing what he did in his childhood made him not want his kids to do the same thing. It was a terrible to have to go through. It wasn't worth the trouble to go to jail. And really, he didn't want his kids obsessed with sex like him and Sydney. That could be a bad habit too. That was more of a chance of them having to turn into parents at a early age in life.
I think I'm okay for now... For now? He couldn't imagine what kind of stress she had right now then. If she didn't think she was going to be ok later, then this must be some things that really worries her because Sydney wasn't the type to be just ok.. for now. He nodded a little bit and looked to Monty then to her. "I'm sorry. Hopefully things will get better. Anything I can do for you?" He asks and chuckled a little. He was sure there was something he could do to relieve the stress just for an hour or so..it wasn't hard for Ryan.
He understood the way Monty acted. He was like a protective dog. Some dogs got so use to their owners they actually attacked other people when they came by their owners.. or barked and growled to warn them to stay away. Monty was doing the same thing. He actually thought it was pretty cool that a girl and a horse could have such a bond. He hadn't had a bond like that with a horse since like 10 years ago. He studied Monty for a minute. "It's ok boy. I'm not gonna hurt either of you, I promise." He told him and smiled a little and looked at Sydney.

On the subject of food and cooking he didn't exactly have bragiging rights but he wasn't terrible at it. In fact he was actually quite good at it. Andrew was taught by his sister back in Mexico, how to cook, and he just went from there. She taught him the basics and then he began to develop a more experienced hand at it. Seeing how Andrew was only in high school he could only get simple jobs... such as a bus boy at small, usually family owned, diners. But hey whatever kept him alive and going right? After a while,he managed to learn quite a few tricks of the trade and secret family recipes. By the time her reached Pinewood he could make just about anything you wanted. Heck if he really wanted to he could go to culinary school and become professional. But no, thats not what he wanted, so he'd stick with just cooking for himself, which was usually what he did. Plus it helped living with Anthony and Alex, sure neither of them were home enough to cook, but Alex kept quite a variety of ingredients so it wasn't hard to make even rare gourmet dishes when he wanted to.
But food wasn't what he worried about sure if he wanted he could get a job as some chef at some restraunt or whatever. But thats not where Andrew's passion lied, He loved animals, Horses imparticular, and thats usually where all his money came from. He was a type of "horse whisperer" not that he'd call himself that, and when he was called that he simply responded with " I don't whisper... they prefer for me to speak up." Which sometimes was a lie, he did whisper to them every so often... usually just when they were being distracted by their environment. Andrew had a very special touch that not very many people possessed. He could turn even the most red zoned case horses into gentle puppy dog type horses. No one knew how he managed this stressfull almost impossible task but he did. He definitely had a gift but he didn't think it was all that special.
In his view point he just treated each and every horse they way they were made to be treated. Each one had their own personality, in Andrew's opninion it was just up to the owner to learn how to handle it. It's too complicating to describe his connection with thpse amazing animals, but it wasn't something that any one man could just learn in a school. It is said that ever horse and owner have a unique bond... some more than others, but thats what everyone says. Andrew was the guy that helped the ones having trouble finding that bond. He was some peoples half way house. Or in Anthony's case he just helped so the horse wouldn't kill them. Loco, Alex's horse, had a thing against Anthony... and everyone else but Alex. So Andrew came in for a few weeks and did his best to keep Loco under control and help him to be slightly more doscile while around other people.
Andrew on the other hand, didn't have that bond with any one horse. He couldn't affored to feed and house himself let alone a horse. So he filled that void by working with other peoples horses, and getting paid was only a small bonus in that arrangement. Besides he didn't need a horse to tie him down. Nothing in this world could tie Andrew Lovasz down. Or so he thought. He was one of those free spirit types, kinda like a gypsy, he constantly needed to be on the move, where ever the wind blew him. He was actually on his way out of this town... when his life of a free man came to a screeching halt. Freedom was quickly stripped out of his fingers, and he was just left to pick up the pieces of his shredded life style. Let me explain...
Meet Andrew Lovasz, Party boy... hormone driven, free grazing guy, who lived to feel the fire of lifes thrills. Meet Sydney Montgomery, Rodeo Queen.... also hormone driven, gypsy like, who unknown to the world was just a scarred little girl who was trying to erase a bad dream. They were not so different, but also very different. It really all depend on how you saw them. Anyways, being alike in "those" certain aspecks one thing lead to another, and here she was expecting a child and here he was scared s*hitless. Course he didn't know that there was a chance it wasn't even his. But unlike Ryan and Sydney he wasn't scared of being hurt... course he didn't know that small detail. But even if he did he wouldn't get hurt, mostly because he could contain his feelings and if she told him either A: she wasn't pregnant. or B: it wasn't his. He'd just pack up and leave, as planned, without a trace.
He wasn't easily broken now days, because usually he was doing the breaking and he never let his emotions take the lead. Usually it was just his physical "need" that drove him to be the person he is today. Maybe the person he is, isn't liked by a lot of people but he didn't give a damn what everyone else liked. He tried pleasing the world before, and that didn't turn out too well for him so he gave that up. Now he just strove to please himself and in his own opinion he was doing a hell of a good job. He had a job, a place to sleep, a nice car, he was getting laid on a regular basis, he was working with the creature he admired the most, Life was pretty darn good for Andrew. That was until the day that it all fell apart for him.
Andrew was never one to buckle under pressure, or crack when everyone else was freaking out. He was usually pretty even tempered... unless he was in a fight... but even then he was usually the one to finish them not start them, course he egged the guy on to start them... but that was beside the point. All in all it took a lot to make him mad, upset, emotional, yada yada. But this hit him in an area of emotion he didn't even know he had. Sydeny was one fine piece of female in Andrew's eyes... when he first met her... but after he had her she was already a discovered talent... not that she wasn't amazing and that he would mind being with her again... but he liked to switch it up. And sleeping with her didn't piss anyone off which was his reason for staying with Melody. So with all that stated... there wasn't much of a chance of him going after her again. Especially considering that he was about to skip town... that was until he opened the door and there she was, stopping his escape.
He felt like he had just been shot when the words dripped from her mouth. But there was no way in hell he was going to break, no not infront of her, not in this situation. So he sucked it up and stood up straight being the man, he held her and told her it'd be ok and he'd help her and that he wasn't going to leave her. Oddly enough, he meant it, he'd never do that to a girl, he may have been a jack ass but he'd never abandon them in this sort of situation... no matter how terrified he was. But on the other hand if it turned out to not be his, even though he didn't know that was a possibility, he would pack his bags yet again and disappear never to be heard from again.... well he might come back for a visit... but not likely.
On this particular day he was trying to avoid being at the house. When he was there it was way to easy to think... and the last thing he needed was his thoughts to haunt him. He wanted to stay busy, so early this morning he was doing some gardening for a guy he met a while back, then he headed to the barn. The barn was his safe haven, he always went to one when things got to him. Some may think it's weird for a guy, who doesn't own a horse, to go to a barn. But Andrew loved the smell it reminded him of when he was little, not that he'd share that information with anyone. But in this case he was allowed to take Loco out... or Ozzy or any of Alex's horses for that matter. She made him her personal trainer for them all. Not that he cared she was letting him live in her house, for all he cared that was payment enough... but she insisted on paying him for it. He liked her.... as in a she was a good pick for his brother not as in a he was attracted to her way... that'd just be gross.
Anyways here he was at Pinewood Stables messing around with Ozzy... mostly just playing out in the arena letting him act like a foal, which he was, Ozzy that is not Andrew. For the first time he was actually having fun... not fun like he had been having but like little kid fun that he didn't get to experience before. He was smiling and laughing and that was a different feeling for Andrew. Considering he might, or might not be a father and is supporting himself and probably soon a family. He was just fine and relaxed and finally loosened up, not having worried about what the hell he was going to do to take care of the three of them. He clipped the lead back on Ozzy to take him back up to the barn and lead him out of the gate. Ozzy being the foal that he was stopped halfway up the hill to munch on the grass, and who was Andrew to pull him away? He just smiled and let him eat plopping himself down onto the grass laying on his back.
Unlike most kids Andrew never got to expirience laying on a patch of grass and watching the clouds roll by... no he was thrusted into adulthood rather quickly seeing how his parents were a couple of druggies that didn't give a rats ass about him, Harsh huh? So considering this was right before he was thrust from adulthood to parenthood he figured he might as enjoy as much of what he missed as he could. And trust me, Relax, wasn't a word that was found in Andrew's vocabulary, often. Usually he was running around, working, studying, or what not. He had a bad tendency to over work himself till he collapsed. He was a strange kid all together. But then again what kid wasn't strange?
He was dozing off slightly when he heard voices near by... usually that wouldn't have effected him seeing how it was a barn and other people did come here often to see their horses and what not. But this voice was familiar, it was female sexy... almost poisoning... in a good way. His body tensed when he realized it was Sydney... but not just because it was her but because there was a male voice along with hers. Andrew was finding himself being protective over her... could you really blame him though? He jerked up and scanned the area to found out where they were. When his eyes finally laid on them his entire composure had changed from loose and relaxed to tense and tight. He did his best not to walk over and beat the guy just for looking at her, then he mentally slapped himself trying to figure out why he even gave a damn who she talked to. But try as he might he couldn't wrap his mind around the concept of being protective and slightly jealous. So he gently lead Ozzy down the hill making sure he had his composer to keep from killing the guy.
This feeling was different... not that he had never felt protective over someone... but the feeling of Jealousy had never overcame him before and it was uncomforting to him. But as he walked down the hill... he came to the realization that he said he'd be there for her... she never said she wanted to be with him. With that now in mind he pushed the jeaousy and protectiveness aside and eased his own tension. But he wasn't going to let her be with some guy unless he approved. If she was pregnant any and every guy she was with would affect his child and he wanted to approve... he was now founding out how complicating the situation he was in was. And he didn't like it anymore then when he did when it wasn't this complicating... if that even made any sense.... poor Andrew he was so confused.

It was true... Sydney was just a scarred little girl trying to forget a bad dream. Everyone says that once someone has lost their virginity that they have lost their innocence, but I contest this as a falsehood. For Sydney, sex had always just been a sort of mindless fun... a game driven by the hormones that raged through her body. Sure she had lost it at a relatively young age, all things considered, but it wasn't like she had any control over the sorts of things her body demanded, and when it demanded sex... who was she to deny it what it wanted? Besides, once she discovered how satisfying and exciting it was, as far as she could see there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I mean honestly, how could something so good have any negative side effects? Sure there were STD's and whatnot, but she wasn't stupid enough to sleep with some hobo trucker who was a walking STD just waiting to infect the rest of the world with his disease. As far as she could tell there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Ah to be so young and naive again.
Anyway, as it were, anything and everything she ever partook in had truly been innocent... but that night... the one night that she wanted to erase, the one night she wanted to go back and change, do everything differently... that had been the night when her innocence was stolen from her. After that night she couldn't find it in her to be the same. Yes sex was still exhilarating and satisfying, but that fear that every man was going to take advantage of her inability to fight back, that every man was going to force her to do something she didn't want to do... that was when sex became more than just a game. She couldn't explain it really, no one who hadn't experienced what she had could completely understand. She had been holding onto this secret for four years now, and although she didn't want it to ever happen, she knew that someone was going to happen eventually and it would just make her crack, then her secret would be out, and everyone would know... anyone who cared about her would become obsessed with being protective of her... they would ask her if she was alright all the time... they would check up on her constantly... they would fawn over her in every semi-stressful situation... and if he ever found out that anyone else knew, he would kill her. She had convinced herself of all of these things, though most of them weren't true.
Some men were worse than others. Generally it was the grungy and gruff looking ones that really scared her, but really every man alive, with the exception of her dad, held the potential to do those unmentionable things to her that would leave her huddled in the corner terrified and hurt with no one to run to. It had been there with Andrew, and it had been there with Ryan... though much less intense with these two than with most. Ryan was gentle and kind and obviously didn't have any cruel intentions behind his actions. Andrew was sultry and devious, but she had seen the way he handled the foal when he had been so eagerly trying for her attention, even though he'd already captured it and she was simply pretending to not mind him just to see if he could figure out what she wanted, and he had. But in Sydney's opinion the way a guy handled a horse said a lot more about him than anything else he could do, and Andrew... well, he had some sort of special touch with horses, which qualified him as safe in her book.
Of course, she was still afraid, but after the first time... well she knew then that they were okay. Monty wasn't so easy to convince, and Sydney had yet to see a guy make his way onto the horse's good side. Then again, considering Monty's possessiveness over her, there was a good chance he wouldn't ever like any other male being in close proximity to Sydney. He was a jealous animal, and he had chased the cat or the dog away several times before when Sydney paid too much attention to them and not enough to him, so if a guy seemed to be taking her attention from him too much, then you could bet Monty would get quite jealous and not be too fond of the guy. Still, Sydney would love to meet a guy who could be near her without Monty getting totally pissed off... she was fairly sure that when she met that guy she would have found her knight in shining armor.
She shook her head slightly when he asked if there was anything he could do for her. Right now could be her last chance to be her old self, and that meant for these last few hours she was going to get back into her gypsy ways. That, of course, meant she wasn't going to sleep with anyone she had slept with before, and she wasn't going to rely on anyone. Self-sufficient and carefree. Just for a few hours she didn't want to have to worry about anyone except herself and her non-human companions. Not right now... She said almost softly, but thanks anyway. She really meant that too. Even just the promise of being there for her was comfort enough, she didn't want any more than that right now. She was Sydney Montgomery, 18 years old, headstrong, beautiful, and indestructible, she wasn't going to let anything get to her... at least outwardly.
She glanced at Monty when Ryan turned his attention to the horse, and for hardly a fleeting moment, that adoring sparkle danced in her eye, and a tiny bit of a smile flickered through the smirk, but then was gone in almost the same instant it had appeared, leaving no traces of it. You might as well give up on him... She said turning back towards Ryan, He's a lost... A momentary hiatus interrupted her train of thought at the sight of Andrew approaching before she gathered it again, ...cause. A spark of worry danced into her expression and was then gone. She liked Ryan... but she liked Andrew too... and now here she was with both of them in the same place... she wasn't sure if she could handle this. She wasn't used to finding herself so emotionally involved with two people, especially at the same time. This wasn't the sort of thing she was accustomed to handling.
Monty caught onto the tension in her that most humans wouldn't be able to detect, and though he didn't understand it at all, he didn't like it either. His ears pricked forward as his attention moved from Ryan to Sydney, and he lipped gently at her shoulder in a semi-curious almost questioning way. When he saw Andrew coming over, it was right back to Mr. Protective though. His ears snapped back again, his head shot up, and he stood a bit more firmly as if challenging Ryan and Andrew to try anything on Sydney. Not only was there one guy here who seemed to have special interest in Sydney, but there was another one... who had another horse with him. Now Monty... he got along just fine with other horses, but this one was with the guy, and as far as Monty was concerned, both guys and the horse were the cause of the slight change in Sydney and he didn't like it one bit.
Hey Andrew. She said in that same seductive Sydney Montgomery way that she almost always did . She was trying to still be carefree, but she couldn't help but worry. If they made her choose right now... she was certain she couldn't handle that... and if Ryan and Andrew got into it... she wasn't sure she could handle that either. She was standing here faced with the only two men that were in her life, and if she had to choose right now just one of them... she was going with Monty. Yes I know, Monty isn't one of the two men, but she couldn't deal with having to choose between Andrew and Ryan right now, so if that was brought up even a little bit, she was just going to hop up on Monty and head for the trails without giving an answer... that was the way she'd been dealing with things so far, and it seemed to work out pretty damn well most of the time.

Now, Ryan had had his fair share of women in his bed. The first time was dramatic at all. He did it with some experienced girl from rodeo. Everyone had done it with her, and it was his turn to show the boys that he was just as good as them. That's just the way bull riders were I guess. He also really never got attached to the girls he had done anything thing with. Only two got lucky but they threw him away like a garbage bag that stuck to high heavens. So he kind of just gave up on relationships. But now he was older, ready to start a new life because he wasn't a perfect angel.
He had done his fair share of illegal things as well. He wasn't mister percect. He had alot of flaws about him. He had done drugs, smoked, drinked, went to jail a couple times. But that was in the past. He was only a social drinker and smoker now. So he hardly got with people unless at rodeo's. But he always waited till after his ride to go drinking with his buddies. No one was perfect, and Ryan was far from it. He could tell you that right now. He was sure Sydney and even Andrew have done there part in getting into trouble, and if they haven't then cheers for them.
Now Ryan was gentle with his hands, making him good with horses because he didn't jerk on them or get rough with them. His horses has extremely soft mouths and the slightest pick of the reins would get them to collect then when you leaned back just enough, they were sliding to stops. He wasn't the greatest with horses though. He would admit that. No he wasn't no horse whisperer. If the horse was willing to do something, then Ryan tried to get it to do something. But never with any sort of abuse did you get a horse to do something unless they were lazy and needed a little extra boost and maybe needed a whip behind them or a touch of a spur.
Not right now... but thanks anyway. She told him. Wow, all this being pregnant must be really bothering her today. He had a feeling she was just going to go out and have herself all the guys she wanted and forget about him. Live him hanging here with a rope around his neck and his heart cut out and her dragging it by a string. He hated to see her like this. He really did. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed a little. He wasn't sure what to do or say. He was clueless.
He's a lost...cause. She told him when he talked to Monty. All he was doing was trying to make friends. He wasn't trying to get the horse to like him immediately, just enough so he wasn't pinning his ears at him and acting like Ryan was going to hurt him and Sydney. Because that was the last thing he was going to do. Well, not even the last, he would never do that intentionally. This was a lost cause just standing her doing nothing but watching her be stressed out. He kicked at the dirt and turned around so he wasn't facing them. I'm going to the barn to put Dude away. He told her and went to walk off.
He heard footsteps behind him and he looked over. He looked over and saw a man... a younger man it looked like. Damn, Ryan was feeling old. Hey Andrew." She said in her usual tone of voice. He studied the man for a moment and glanced back at Sydney. Then a thought clicked into his head. That must be the daddy.. well supposively the daddy. He felt a tug at his heart. He wasn't going to fight unless Andrew wanted to. He didn't want to make the situation worse with Sydney. He would just let her decide who she wanted if any of them would be chosen without having to fight. He began to keep walking toward the barn, letting them just be. He walked into the barn and found Dude tied up like he had been.
He walked the horse a little bit to make sure he was still ok and doing fine since he was older. He smiled and rubbed the horses head. Good boy. He told the horse and led him back into this stall. He then fed his horses and checked their water. Then walked back outside to his truck, but he had to walk past Sydney and Andrew to do so. As he walked up, he looked at Sydney. I'm heading out. Got to go practice some bullriding. Talk to you later. He said when he stopped to be polite. Then gave a nod of his head toward them and walked on to his truck and got in.

"I love you" three simple one syllable words that would never leave Andrew Lovasz's mouth. He knew he'd only been in love once, and that wasn't even with a human being. It was with the horse he met while in California. The horse was perfect in every aspect and Andrew wanted her like nothing he'd ever wanted before. He'd never share that with anyone, but any man who saw him look at her, with that sparkle in his eye, could tell he was in love with her. Her name was St. Mary, He first laid eyes on her while working with a wild head strong colt with great bloodlines and a shitty attitude. He was leading the colt through the yard and he spotted her in the arena across the way, she stopped him dead in his tracks. She had perfect bloodlines, perfect confirmation, perfect markings, the heart to do what she was made to do. He stood frozen for less then a millisecond before having his arm ripped out of its socket by the rowdy colt.
Three weeks later he was finished with the Colt and he never saw that mare again. Some may think of him as a phsyco to love a horse like that. But in Andrew's defence he was pretty sure he was never going to feel that way about any ol' girl. He just couldn't bring himself to express himself to a girl, or any human for that matter, the way he expressed himself to a horse. The horses that Andrew worked with were a lot like himself, free spirits that would just fighting against becoming domesticated, and he didn't blame them at all, because even himself didn't want to be domesticated. He understood how they felt, always being pressured to settle down, become a gentle man, to be.... something they weren't. So what Andrew did was help the horse realize that what they were doing wasn't harmfull and they could still be free.... he talked to them... sometimes literally.
He never treated a horse roughly or harshly, he treated them like they were porcelin dolls. His gentle touch got him this far... sad fact was, he never treated a girl the way he treated a horse. Sure he never abused or forced a girl to do anything at all and he never would, thats just not how he rolled. But he also never showed them his honest gentle caring side. They were all just throw aways, things that you used one time and just tossed away, and if they were lucky he'd reuse them. Horses were the only creatures in the universe that ever got the "real" Andrew. He had so many different sides... but the true side was only showed to the equine kind. No way in hell he was going to trust anyone with the real him and run the risk of them exposing him, not even his own brother.
It was hard to explain but he just had a lot of trust issues and it was going to take a lot more then some chick fawning over him, for him to show her his true identity. So with his gorgeous blue eyes and brown hair he seduced a lot of the female kind and left them high and dry. With all that now known, in this particular situation with Sydney he was seriously confused, everything he had known had just gotten flipped upside down. He didn't know if he was coming or going, and the fact that a tinge of jealousy had struck him made him frustrated. He didn't want to like anyone, no one was going to tie him down, no one was going to force him to settle. He found himself stubbling in every direction he turned... metaphoricaly that is. Maybe the thing he really needed was time to think it all over, but that was the last thing he wanted, was to be alone with his thoughts.
Knowing this was how he felt and his world was spinning he couldn't even imagine how she was feeling, he almost felt selfish for feeling like he did, but he'd never admit that. He was head strong and admitting how he was feeling was only going to happen between him and someone that wasn't going to talk back. Some may think it was girly for him to have that type of a bond with a horse... but he knew deep down they were the only ones he could trust. He never stuck around long enough to find that type of bond in a person, and he wasn't planning on it either. That love he had in him was made souly for horses like St. Mary, and unless hell froze over he wasn't going to express that to some girl... even then it was questionable. Yes Andrew was pretty damn stubborn.
A smirk spread across his face when the other guy turned around as if to leave. Triumph, thats what that look was, he had won and he didn't even have to try.Oh yes he knew that just because the guy was leaving didn't mean that he had won Sydney, he wasn't even sure if he wanted that, and he knew that she wasn't some sort of prize. But just the idea of not having to try at all to get the guy to leave was quite satisfying, if he did say so himself. He nodded to Sydney as she adressed him keeping his triumphant smirk on his face. Letting some slack on the lead rope he looked up with a slight serious glance at Monty making sure his full attention was on the elder horse. He had been around a lot of horses in his travels and especially in his line of work and he had worked with several Monty's, not to say all their personalities were the same, quite the contrary actually. Each had their own spice, or twist the the situation and he had no doubt that Monty had his specia quirks that needed work. Not to say he was a bad horse, no Andrew didn't think any horse was bad... just miss understood. But from the way he say Sydney handle him he bet she understood him just perfectly... and vise versa too.
He made sure his body showed that his complete attention was directed toward the horse and he was showing him the ut-most respect by adressing him first before Sydney. Then he let his body relaxed still smirking he looked at Sydney. "Hey... " he said reading her body language. She was quite the opposite of what she was the last time he had seen her, which was when she told him about the use of the condom.... or lack there of. She carried herself more like how she did the first time he met her... but this time was definitely different. Not that he'd adress that at all. If she wanted to go back to the way she was he wasn't going to stop her, it was a free country. He grazed his hand over Ozzy's forehead trying to figure out how to handle this all. "you look good... But then again in his mind she always looked good. Kids these days doing drugs, drinking, dating, sleeping around. What has the world come to?
OOC; Kind short but oh well

Ryan had got to his truck. Andrew seemed to of liked the idea already. So Ryan decided that he wasn't going to make it that easy. So he grabbed some cigarettes from his glove box and pulled one out. He didn't smoke often, but right now he felt like he needed to. All this stress going around. It was contagious. He grabbed a lighter as well and lit his cigarette up. He took a long drag then let out the smoke. He put hsi lighter back in teh seat of his truck and shut the door.
He strolled back to where they were. He figured they may as well talk as a group, because either way one of them was teh father, and Sydney was the mother. They needed to work it out like adults, and Ryan was afraid that he was the only one over twenty years of age. Which made him the most responsible in a way. He walked over and looked at Andrew then to Sydney. Then to Monty. "Don't you guys think we should talk about this? As adults?" he suggested and took another drag of his cigarette and blew the smoke out. "I mean come on, me or Andrew could be the father of this child. And we should be figuring out who stays and who goes. " He said and looked up toward the trees far away.
He let out a soft sigh and leaned against the fence, waiting for a reply of some sort. Instead of just leaving and giving up immediately, he felt like he needed to be responsible and take part in this. They needed to come to some agreements. It would most likely be easier stress wise if they did. But who knew, it could make it worse. But his mother always taught him to talk it through with people. So that's is what he was going to do. He was going to talk with them like human beings.
Ryan took a few more drags of his cigarette and it was done. He dropped it on the ground and stomped on it. He dug into his pants pocket and pulled out his phone. He texted a few buddies and looked around. He texted a few more times then put his phone back into his pocket. He felt like the world was coming to an end..well not really but may as well be doing so. He felt terrible for the situation they all were in right now. He felt responsible for it all, and he really shouldnt' be because it wasn't all his fault.

Sydney would never admit that she wasn't the greatest person with horses. She loved them, possibly more than anything else in the entire world, but she didn't have that "special touch" that made her the perfect horse person. Sure she and Monty were more than perfect for each other, and understood one another probably more than anyone else ever could, but what she had with Monty wasn't like what most people had with any horse. He wasn't perfect... they didn't win every show (though they came pretty damn close)... he had his bad days when he knocked barrels down, his time was terrible, occasionally he took a turn too sharply and fell... he was just as mortal as every other horse out there. Sydney wasn't perfect either... she had her bad days when it seemed like she couldn't do anything right, she never accomplished anything, and just plain old had a bad day. But there was something special about what she and Monty had.
In all honesty though, Sydney wasn't the greatest horse person in the world. She was really struggling with Hobo's training. He was cut out to be the perfect rodeo horse, but he just couldn't seem to get a hang of it. Sydney loved him, but there were days, which seemed to be getting more and more numerous, when she really started to wonder if they just weren't a good pair. She never rode anyone else's horses, and Monty and Hobo were the only horses, with the exception of Rusty, that she had ever ridden, so who knew? Maybe she was better than she thought and Hobo just wasn't the right horse for her. Of course she wasn't going to give up though. She hadn't ever given up on anything in her life, and she sure as hell wasn't going to start now. Oh no, not this cowgirl. She was dead set in her ways, and it was going to take a lot to make her change.
Needless to say she was slightly surprised by Ryan's reaction. She just wanted to be carefree for one last day... was that so wrong? He seemed bothered by it though, and it really made her wonder. He said he was going to go put his horse up, but she had a feeling he was just using that as an excuse to get away. She was slightly confused by it, but she wasn't going to let onto that. These could possibly be her last few hours to be free of immense responsibility, and she didn't want to waste them trying to figure out the mind of a guy. They say girls are the complicated ones, but as far as Sydney could tell guys were way more complicated. Girls just wanted to be told that they're beautiful, to feel appreciated, to be good at what they do... to be loved. Whatever the hell it was that guys wanted was way beyond Sydney. Some seemed to just want sex, others wanted more... she couldn't tell you.
As Ryan left and Andrew came, she was quite intrigued with the way Andrew seemed to have a stare down with Monty. It wasn't the typical male dominance sort of stare down though... which was good since Monty would never have yielded in one of those. It seemed more like Andrew was delving into the mind of the horse, figuring out what made him so protective of Sydney and what would set him off. She found it quite interesting. Only once he seemed satisfied with his little stare down did her address her... and he said those words. Of course they were a bit less flamboyant than most, considering most guys who told her that used the terms beautiful or hott or something like that... but even so, Sydney liked to hear it. She knew she was beautiful... that she was eye-candy... but she still loved being told that by the male species.
Thanks... She said, really meaning it, despite the fact that her expression and tone might not convey that. Just after she had said that, she noticed Ryan coming back again, though it appeared that he was heading more towards his truck than to return to the conversation. He stopped and told them that he was leaving, though something told her this was just another excuse. She wasn't sure if it was something she had said or what, but he seemed to have changed a bit after she said she didn't need anything at the moment. She didn't understand, but she wasn't going to question it... the last thing she needed was something more complicated to be added to her list of things that were on her mind right now. With a slight nod, she acknowledged what Ryan had said. Alright... bye Ryan...
She wasn't really sure what to say to Andrew after Ryan left, but before she could even think of something, Ryan was coming back again. As soon as he had said those words, all of the stress that Sydney had just managed to dispose of came rushing back. She was certain that it was written all over her face. What it was about those words that bothered her, she wasn't sure. Possibly the fact that he made it sound like whoever she didn't choose was going to have to pack up and leave town against his will... and that was a hell of a load of weight to bear on her shoulders... but most likely it was the fact that he had brought up the possibility that the baby wasn't Andrew's. She hadn't wanted to talk about that at all... she wanted that to stay on the back burner so it couldn't affect her.
She bit her lip slightly and a moment of silence drew out between them. She was completely certain that she looked like a mouse cornered by a cat with no escape in sight. Finally she cracked under the pressure of the silence, and it all happened a bit more quickly than she had expected, the words spilling out from her mouth before she even had a chance to think about what she was saying. No... She said a bit more boldly than either of them had ever heard her say anything, I have been dealing with things like an adult since I was five years old. I dealt with my mom leaving like an adult. I dealt with practically raising myself like an adult. I dealt with practically running my dad's ranch like an adult. I dealt with being... She paused, barely managing to stop herself before she said "I dealt with being raped like an adult," but then had to try to make them forget her momentary pause. I don't even know if I'm pregnant for sure yet, and this could be the last few hours of my freedom. And if I am pregnant... I'm the one who's going to have to stop everything, change every last aspect of my life. I get that it's stressful and changes things for you, but you're not the ones who have to be pregnant for nine months, and you have no idea what this is like for me... She stopped again, realizing that she was probably starting to sound almost angry, and that wasn't what she wanted it to sound like.
So for once in my life, I'm not going to deal with the situation like an adult and I'm going to actually act like the eighteen year old that I am. If you two want to figure out "who's staying and who's going" then be my guest, but I'm not going to take part in that. That said she turned, and headed for the gate of the practice arena. She was slightly flustered, realizing that she had just told the two of them a lot more about herself and about her past than she was completely comfortable with them knowing, and she needed to breathe. All the while she had been talking, Monty seemed to be getting more irritated as she did, and as she started walking away, he stalked haughtily after her for a few feet before settling into Sydney's Monty, lowering his head to be about at her shoulder level and leaning into her slightly, comfortingly as if he knew that she needed all the support she could get right now.
If either Ryan or Andrew still wanted to talk to her, they'd have to come after her and talk while she walked. She'd just told half of the life story she didn't want anyone else to know, so they would have to excuse her if she was a bit edgy. She was just as fragile as any girl, and when she was this stressed out, she was very much more than likely to break. She didn't like this kind of pressure, and she couldn't handle it at the moment.

19 years of experience, in life and all it's battles and happiness, was all Andrew had. Maybe that wasn't a lot in your opinion but if you had lived the life that he had, than you'd probably think a lot differently. He was born to parents that were druggies and theydidn't even want him or his brothers and sister. With that known you might be starting to change your mind, if not then keep reading. He was lived and grew up with his older sister, her husband, and their kids, so needless to say he lacked severely in the attention department. He did as he was told and did his best not to complain. For the most part he stuck with Anthony, his older brother, rather than his sister. He was Andrew's role model, and Andrew honestly admired himlike no other... Until that is, Anthony left. They were pretty close considering everything, and in Andrew's own opinion, Anthony was his best friend, and well no one elses opinion mattered anyways. They spent nearly every waking minute at the barn. Anthony was a jockey, so while he rode Andrew just chilled in the barn, and got to know all the horses.
Right there ladies and gents is where it all started for Andrew. In fact when he was about five he was found in a stall with some wild stallion, that even the most experienced trainers had a hard time handling him. The horse was bucking, kicking, and lashing out, and Andrew was sitting in the corner of the stall giggling. This happened on several occasions to the point where ANdrew was the only one that this stallion would let do anything withhim. Quite the amazing gift that this boy possessed. After Anthony left he was constantly at the barn doing anything and everything he could just to bearound the horses... They were the only security he had left... If he couldn't have them he'd be miserable. When he wasn't at the barn he was helping his sister with her several offspring trying to hurry up so he could go to the barn.
After a while, Andrew learned that life would be a lot easier if he was just taking care of himself. So he managed to get himself emancipated and at the age of 15 he left his sister's house tolive in California by himself. He had "saved" enough money to geta car and after that allhe hadto worry was housing and food... Oh and an education. He was a smart kid with a lot of potential and he knew that, so he wasn't going to let it go to waste by not going to school... Yeah he knew it wouldn't be easy but in his mind anything was better than what he was putting up with living with his sister. Once he got into a school by a barn and somet town like environment where he could find work, he realized it wasn't all that bad, living on his own that is.
Not long after living on his own and paying his own way, he realized that he was quite attractive... I mean he knew he looked good, but now he knew just how far his brown hair and blue eyes would get him. Having a job as a gardner at rich kid's houses, surprisingly, got him far as well. Horse whisperer, waiter, and garder, people were beggining to wonder if there was anything he couldn't do. He was quite gifted, and anyone who met him could see that. Now he was discovering there wasn't much he couldn't do... which also ment he could easily get what he wanted out of anyone and everyone. He learned that acting a certain way around different people would get him a lot farther then being himself around everyone, just how he trained and worked with horses.
With Sydney things were way different than any other girl... which was what he said about all the girls he'd been with, but honestly she was nothing like any of the girls he had been with. She was.... like a female version of himself. Sexy, sentual, daring, sex-crazed, he just had to think about her and he was turned on. He was staying in Pinewood because of her... not because of her, but for her. He wanted to help her with this baby... and the more time he spend with her the more he found himself falling for her. When he was with the first girl in California he promised himself he'd never fall in love with a girl. But i mean could you blame him... with all the examples of love he had in his life he couldn't help but feel like all love did was doom a relationship. Even now he refused to say that word... he would deny it if he was accused but he was afraid of saying it. He didn't want to be in a miserable relationship with someone because he said he loved them.
He was doing his best to ignore feelings that were slowly developing. Being with her and thinking about them starting a family, even though it wasn't by choice, was kind of... thrilling in its own odd way. He wasn't terrified exactly... okay yeah he was, but he had time to think about it and the more he thought about it the more he was determined to make it work no matter what. Seeing her here and in way better condition than she was when he saw her on his front porch made him feel better about the situation. She was amazing, right now she was pretty sure she was pregnant and she looked so good. Well she always looked good but this was a different good... she seemed happy and that was amazing to him... She was so strong and he was very impressed.
Setting a boy free at 15 was a gutsy move not that they had a choice but still... But it seemed now he was just getting tied down at age 19... it was rather disapointing. But he was dealing with it the best he could. He'd never tell a soul how scared he was but he was scared shitless and right now it was taking all he had to keep from screaming at the world for robbing him of his youth. Now here he was finding himself smirking at the girl who was to be doing the tying... what had Sydney Montgomery done to Andrew Lovasz? We might never know... but if you ask me i think she drugged him when he wasn't conscious. Ok maybe thats a bit drastic... but since he slept with her things in his life hadn't been the same.
She showed her appreciation to his comment in less than a confident tone and before he had a chance to respond he was coming back. Ryan was his name... there was something about him that Andrew just didn't like. He wasn't sure what but he knew he didn't like it. All he said was goodbye... that was it Andrew scanned his eyes over him judging his posture and every inch of his body language... The guy seemed a tad bit desperate... Andrew didn't see the reason for him to walk directly back over to them just to say goodbye. He definitely didn't see what Sydney apparently did because if he was her he wouldn't have given him the time of day. But he wasn't a girl and he didn't see Ryan like Sydney probaby did so he was leaving that judgement to her.
He watched Ryan walk away with slight confusion but then turned his expression back to a smirk after he was gone, and looked at Sydney. " No problem..." He looked over her still smirking. If he didn't think her horse would kill him if he touched her he would have grabbed her and kissed her right then and there, but alas he held himself down, yet again. His glance faultered as Ozzy pulled closer to Sydney sniffing at her in his cute little foal way, causing a tiny hint of a smile to flicker over Andrew's face. He loved horses and their way of confronting certain situations. He looked back up at Sydney about to open his mouth to say "do you think they'd kill me if i tried to kiss you right now?" but he only managed to get out. "Do you-" Then he stopped when he saw Ryan walking back. Damn does he ever go away? he cursed to himself.
Ryan had the nerve to open his mouth... and made probaby the biggest mistake he would ever make in his entire life. Everything about talking about it like adults made no sense till he continued... and when he said that either of them could be ther father Andrew's deminor completely changed, his jaw and fist clenched and his entire body stiffened... this guy was in way over his head. Andrew's smirk faded to a scowl/glare that was directed to Ryan but was pointed in the direction of no one. It took all he had to reframe from hitting Ryan, but boy was he tempted. Not only was he pissed at Ryan... he was pissed because he had commited himself to staying in a place he already had decided to leave and now he was finding out it might have been pointless to stay.
Ozzy, sensing his mood change, moved so he was standing behind Andrew peering around like a baby. He was going to say something but Sydney beat him to the punch. After she finished basically exploding on them and dumping a lot more than he probably would have gotten out of her just talking, she stalked off clearly upset and pissed. Andrew's jaw nearly dropped but he prevented it from doing so and just pointed his scowl at Ryan. "Smooth move Jackass" He relaxed his hand on the lead so it was more gentle and pulled Ozzy in the direction Sydney went trying to catch up to her with Ozzy in tow. "Sydney... come on wait up..." Not that he knew what he'd say once he did catch up to her... but he didn't want her to be upset... and he wasn't going to show her how pissed off he was. She needed him more than he needed to leave so he was going to control his temper and be there for her. How twisted their young lives were...

Ryan wasn't no horse whisperer like Andrew. He was good with horses, but he wasn't the best and he knew it and would admit to it. Ryan had been riding horses all his life, but to him a horse had to work, if they weren't willing to work then they needed to either die or get sold to someone that had some use for it to just eat grass. His horses were working horses, they were trained to rope and compete at high levels. And they would stay like that till they killed over. Andrew was totally different. He talked to horses.. and Ryan didn't.
Ryan was also older then Andrew, well that's what he thought. Ryan had been there done that. He had went to jail for drugs and abusing a girl.. in which he didn't. She just turned him in because she told her parents about the sex they had. Ya, she was a bitch. He didnt' like her in the first place, but she was willing to have sex so he was all for it then.. until she turned him in. The drugs was because he started hanging out with the wrong crowd. He would never do that again. He refused.
Ryan would much rather compete in rodeo and have sex with every girl he met. Girls seemed to just use you now days and why even try to get in a relationship with one. Hell, he would do anything to keep a girl in his life because he was ready to settle down and start a family. But that wouldn't happen to him. He was not perfect. And he would admit to that too. So waht was he doing here? With Sydney and Andrew? He wanted to leave but he felt like he needed to get a word in. But that didn't work so great.
Sydney had well... told things he didn't know about her. And she seemed upset and mad all at the same time. So maybe Ryan should have shut his mouth, but he was just as frusterated. He sighed adn watched her walk off. Andrew put in his few words to him. Ryan just nodded. 'I know, I'm not perfect and never will be." He said adn watched Andrew run after Sydney. He wanted to do the same thing. But he didn't want to compete with Andrew. Sydney could just choose herself without the fighting and bickering.
She probably wanted Andrew because he was so much better than Ryan apparently. Andrew was a horse whisperer. He was good with horses. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He was also younger than Ryan by atleast a year, in Ryan's opinion. He wasn't sure though. And not only all those, he was nice to her to what he could see. Sydney needed someone that was going to be nice to her and treat her well. With all these things in Ryan's mind, he just left to his truck and actually got in and left this time.
Why compete with someone that was obviously better than him. Sydney would like Andrew far more better then Ryan. Ryan had his days of being a trouble maker. He was a rodeo cowboy, he would always be gone riding bulls and roping steers. He would end up in the hospital as well alot more than he would be home. Ryan wasn't the best with horses and Andrew was good, Ryan could tell. Ryan didn't have the looks either, he was dirty blonde with blue eyes.. nothing to special about that. So he decided to leave.. he had a rodeo tomorrow anyway. He drove home and went to his room where he packed up his bag for the rodeo..
