The quarantine for coming into the States was insane. A tall German man was kept waiting for his stallion for weeks because of some crazy rule about disease and whatnot. He had to force himself to accept that it was a safety precaution and nothing more. Since his stallion wasn’t here yet and everything was set up for his arrival, Kris wandered around the barn aimlessly, bored out of his mind since there was really nothing for him to do.
Eventually he let his feet carry him out into the pastures. The green grass looking soft and welcoming to him but he was sure it was even more appealing to a horse. Slowly he walked out into one of the pastures, hopping the fence easily enough since he was wearing slightly baggy jeans that were light blue, held up at his waist with a black belt. He wore a white button up shirt, it was made of a thicker material so it wasn’t see through. It was buttoned all the way up minus a few buttons at the top, the cuffs were undone and hanging loosely around his wrists; he didn’t bother tucking it in either. Running a hand through his hair he walked around the pasture, shuffling his feet over the short grass.
There was a soft noise to his right, at first he thought it was his own feet but he let his gaze shift over to the right. His grey eyes shifted over to see a horse trotting around in the pasture, its head raised high as it trotted around in a large circle. A smile came to his face as he neared the fence, leaning on it to watch the horse enjoy itself outside in the sun. He wished he could be so carefree, just run around and enjoy himself…to have something so simple make him happy. He could dream…but in the mean time he had to live life to his fullest. Right now he was content with watching the horse run around in the pasture, kicking up its heels and snorting. Kristoph didn’t now who’s horse it was but he was happy sitting there watching it.

stunning saphire blue eyes shimmered and watered in the bright sunlight as a stunning figure stepped from the dim barn. her eyes narrowed and she held up a slender hand to block some of the glare from the shining sun. Putting her hand down she brushed off her black tank top and faded denims. her black cowboy hat sat on the seat of her truck but she really didnt feel like going to get it. running a hand through her long strawberry blonde hair, stephanie looked towards the fields and her thoroughbred mare Misery Buisness. walking towards the field, slender hips swaying steph smiled as she watched the black mare gallop and kick up her heels in the field. only weeks ago the mare would barely move, barely acknowledge the food given to her. it made steph happy to see her training and love having an affect on her race horse.
steph had bought misery at auction. she had read the mares racing forms and saw she had won her first few races. then her owners had started over racing her and hired a much harsher and almost cruel trainer. because of misery's personality she required a soft hand and a soft and caring heart. steph knew the mare had so much untapped potential and only being three years old that she could make her better. so steph had bought the broken down horse and made her almost better. steph walked towards the fence, her pace slow, lesurly. she noticed a handsome man looking at misery and she smiled, noticing how he smiled, admiring her horse. it made her feel good to know that her horses could draw a gaze. reaching the fencline steph gave out a short sharp whistle. misery stopped her kicking and rearing and looked up.
dark hazelnut eyes gazed out at her through a long dark forelock. throwing her head and kicking up her heels again misery gave a small squeal and cantered gracefully over to steph, almost as if showing her she could be graceful. steph hopped up on the fence and sat there, petting the mare lovingly, debating taking her out for a ride. steph risked a quick glance at the man and saw him still standing there. she quickly looked away and dropped down into the pasture. misery nudged steph and she laughed quietly. "none of that now" she murmered lovingly as she stroked the mares face...

Kristoph’s dull grey eyes continued to watch the mare, her black coat shining in the sun as she had her fun. The mare continued to enjoy herself until he heard a loud whistle, the mare turned on her heel and cantered over to the young woman that had to of called for her. The woman got up on the fence, sitting there as the mare came over to rest her head against the person that was most likely her owner. After several moments of just staring at the pair he let his feet start to carry him towards tow two.
Hopping the fence out of the pasture again he walked over to the mare and her owner, his long legs carrying him their easily at a slow pace. Stopping a few feet from the two he leaned forwards, resting his forearms on the fence while he looked over the mare again before looking back to the woman that was perched atop the fence. You have a nice mare. What breed is she? Kristoph had a strong German accent, his H’s weren’t even heard and his W’s sounded like V’s but it was easy enough to understand the man.
After Kris spoke he looked over to the woman, his grey eyes running over her features as if waiting for her to say something back. However he was really just looking over the woman that had done the same to him unknowingly. She was beautiful, in the traditional way at least. She had long hair, striking blue eyes, and he was sure if she smiled it would light up the room. He didn’t know what her personality was like, he had just seen her for the first….then again he really didn’t know many people around here, since he just came from Germany not more than a month ago.

steph watched the young man approach. he was very handsome. as he walked slowly towards her and misery he spoke to her. she smiled as she listened to him talk. the words rolled of his tongue in a strong german accent. as he reached them misery swivelled her ears, turning to him and lipping at his shirt. for such a previously damaged mare she was so warm and loving now. steph grabbed a gentle hold of the mares saphire blue halter and pulled her face towards herself. she planted a kiss on the mares velvet lips before answering. " shes a purebred, registered thoroughbred. im going to try racing her again soon," steph looked at him as she spoke but quickly returned her attention to the affectionate mare who sought it.
steph ran her hands up and down miserys neck. the mare, realizing petting was all she would get gave her mother one last affectionate lip before turning tail and running towards the back of the pasture, kicking up her heels as she went. steph laughed quietly as she watched the ebony mare go, her eyes dancing. after a minute she looked back to the man. "im stephanie by the way. do you have your own horse here?" she asked politly
[[beh sorry horrible. but im so tired right now and slightly museless. it should get better.]]

Kris was normally a social guy but being in America for the first time in a long time was taking its toll on him. He was actually going to live here this time…that meant he had to get along with people for more than just a week or two. When Kris stopped near the woman and her horse he was able to see the two better than before. The woman was a beautiful blonde and the horse was a large black mare that was friendly enough to come up to him and lip at his shirt. When she lipped at him her muzzle left small green marks on his bright white shirt. Rubbing the mare’s muzzle affectionately he grinned at her, letting his fingers work into her forelock before the woman pulled her by her blue halter to get her to stop lipping at Kristoph.
Running a hand through his hair he let his grey eyes run along the mare’s body then back to the woman as she spoke. She’s a good looking mare. Has she raced before? He questioned as the mare turned and ran off into the pasture again, tired of being in the presence of the humans. For several moments Kris watched the mare but his attention was soon turned towards her owner that was still perched on the fence next to him. I’m Kristoph. I have a horse but…he’s still in quarantine…I came from Germany not long ago and they want to make sure he’s not going to transfer any crazy diseases. He stated with a heavy sigh. He really did want his horse here now, he needed to be ridden and worked hard in order to stay in shape and keep his mannerisms.
Looking over the woman again he couldn’t help but stare a bit. She was very attractive, you would have to be blind not to see that. So…Stephanie, what kind of riding do you do? He asked brushing off an invisible speck from his right forearm as if trying to find something to do it seemed. He was so bored without his horse…and no knowing anyone here didn’t help him in the least.
[[It's cool... I've been tired lately too so take your time hun!]]

steph smiled and listened while Kris talked. Misery continued to gallop around the pasture. she loved the mare. and since misery was almost recovered it was just about time to get the racehorse back out on the track. steph looked at Kris as she spoke to him. "she used to race. then she won a few and her owners started over racing her. when she stopped winning cause of exhaustion they took it as her being disobiedient so they started using abusive training methods. i found her and bought her from them for dirt cheap. it was either that or else i would report them and they would lose their hold racing operation." steph sighed, goosebumps raising on her arm as she remembered the state of her horse when she had first gotten her. but that was all in the past now. misery was ready to start winning again.
Kris told her about his horse still stuck on the trip over to the states. it was true it was nearly impossible to bring a horse over quickly but always better to be safe than sorry. kris asked her what kind of riding steph did and she smiled again, brushing some blonde locks away from her saphire eyes. " i do everything. but barrel racing is my life. i live to race. i have my young andlusian stud and hes been winning every time i take him in rodeos. and i just bought a new baby and im going to start training him. he shows a lot of potential for roping and barrel. maybe some dressage or endurance too though" steph looked at him and realized she had been talking quite a lot. "but what about you though?" she asked bringing the attention to him now.
