I like the whole Charlie and Robbie as partners thing... Charlie needs somebody on the job to keep him from going insane with all the stress and the ridiculous number of shifts he takes on to provide for his family.
I think Meri and Derrick could definitely work into something. Maybe she has a crush on him but since she's shy about her real feelings she doesn't tell him so they're just friends for a while then he starts to like her, but he doesn't think she feels the same way so he doesn't tell her and the two of them just like have all these feelings for each other but they're both afraid to tell each other about it and... yeah.
