Daniel watched her. That little crooked smile, he liked it. It suited the girl before him and made him smile fully flashing white teeth at her. He slid into the seat a bit more and nodded at her words. He ran his fingers through his curly bronze hair and sighed. He didn’t want her to be upset and so for a silent moment he weighted his options. He was trying to decide how to best approach the idea. It was a difficult one indeed. Finally deciding his course of action he opened his mouth to speak.
The waitress interrupted his train of thought and he glanced to her then straight back to Moss ignoring her for the most part. The girl ahead of him had his full attention. ”Ladies first.” he said as if it were the most basic concept and somehow the waitress had missed it. He didn’t care if the waitress was all smiles and winks to him, it didn’t matter he was too focused on what was before him to care. He simply waited for moss to finish and ordered a simple platter of chicken fingers and a coke. When the waitress realized she wasn’t getting the time of day she turned and slipped off.
”Now where was I.” he muttered a moment trying to regain his baring. ”yes, if you want to tell me I will listen. I only want you to speak if you want me to know. I mean you must met me not a few hours ago so if it is too personal I understand trust me.” he said slowly. He was a compassionate guy and there was no use forcing it on the girl if she wasn’t ready. She might say she was but that meant nothing really in the grand scheme. He wanted to reach across the table and take her hand but he stopped himself. Unconsciously he laid his hand on the table though. Something inside of him told him this was a girl he didn’t need to hide from.

-- && -- okay. and its very personal, but ....after my actions, i wanted to explain myself. ........i was upset because of my Dad. he died a while ago, and i havent yet healed up. its...difficult, when i have no one else in my life to.....distract me. other than rain. and i know that sounds ...horrible probably, but i heal better when im not focused on the problem. this was the first time mia hadnt held back speaking to him. she didnt care if she blabbered on and on anymore. she had to explain herself. eyes moved from his face to his hands which he placed on the table about two inches from Moss's. her hands slid closer to his but she didnt touch his. she never made a move on a guy unless she was drunk. before Dan had ordered, she ordered a plain ceasar salad. she wasnt very hungry, but was in the mood for rabbit food. no clue why, she was typically a carnivore.
-- && -- one hand slipped down to her pocket to grab a wad of paper and money. she pulled out the right amount of money, and stuck it in the other pocket. she looked at one piece of paper; it was a receipt. for the shipping load. two grand to ship her mustang gto here. she was waiting for it to arrive, but it probably wouldnt for a week. she glanced outside to her truck, and smiled. it was her favorite truck, and her dads favorite. she would never sell it, and if it died, she'd probably just hire someone to fix it up nice again. the mustang gto was just a car that her dad had preordered for her 17 birthday, since he didnt want her driving yet. after her father died, she got her permit, then license and then his truck. then she found the preorder receipt to the car, and was crazy surprised when she got it. she just wished her father would have been there to see it. it was a beauty.
-- && -- moss looked back to Dan. she couldnt stop thinking about him. every topic would turn into something involving Dan. she wanted to involve him in her life. was she already crushing? moss blushed slightly at that thought, proving her accusation right. she looked to the water that sat by them, and grabbed her's to sip on it. she was fine with water, wasnt going to order a drink, but if Dan did she wouldnt care. She looked at the window, now noticing a truck by her's. must be Dan's. it was nice. she loved trucks. moss's hands returned to by Dans, as she cautiously looked at him, waiting for his reaction to this movement. what would he do? only time would tell.

Daniel watched her taking in her words and nodded slowly. He had lost his mother, not to death but she had taken off. He understood the wound well enough. The loss of his father was not one he mourned though it was one he relished. He preferred to be safe and far enough across the pond to cause problems in being found. He liked it here, not to say he didn’t miss the weather and rain but it was nice enough. Anything was better than his father. ”It’s ‘ard losing someone you care about. If you don’t mind my asking how did he die?”
When the waitress came back flashing her smile and charm again, “your drink sir.” She said but his attention didn’t turn as she placed the drink down, ”Thanks.” was all he said before, seemingly annoyed she turned and hurried off again. Apparently she didn’t take a hit too well he was not interested in making small talk with a waitress when he had a girl right in front of him he was interested in. The thought hit him a little harder then he would have liked for it was as much a realization as it was an observation. He gave a small half smile letting it be what it was, he was taught to let things be the way they were and not to force different ideas. It was simple and easy for him to comprehend so he left it at what it was.
When her hand returned to that space before his he glanced down to it. They were so close he could feel the energy between their finger tips. Carefully he turned his hand over and slid it beneath hers and gently grasped it. It was like two halves of the same whole fitting into place he thought. Like puzzle pieces sliding into their proper order. It was a silly and romantic notion but he was a hopeless romantic, he couldn’t help himself. Those blue eyes turned up to stare into her hazel pair and he looked away again quickly to hide his thoughts, he was never good with dealing with the opposite sex. Yes he may know how to take his feelings but that didn’t mean he was great at expressing them.
”Well if you need someone to keep your mind off of things I am always willing to ‘ang out and ride if you like. I mean it means spending time with a bit of a crazy brute of a ‘orse and me but hay can’t win um all can ya?” he was trying to keep her in good spirits seeing her upset bothered him. He followed her gaze to the pickups parked next to each other, much like the saddles close. His looked like hell next to hers. It was a newer model but its previous owner hadn’t taken care of it so it was rusted out and abused, the only reason he could afford it at this point. His eyes returned to Moss again and he lifted his soda with his free hand. He went to take a sip and misjudged the amount of ice sending a good deal of liquid down his shirt. He gasped at the cold and set the glass down quick, smooth, his life’s story. He pulled his hand away and noticed how reluctant his body was to make the move. Still he managed it and grabbed his napkin to clean it up. ”There I go makin’ a fool of myself again.”

-- && -- as he asked his first question, she replied smoothly. Pulmonary Embolism. meaning, a blood clot went through his heart and clung onto his lungs, filling them with blood. i dont know how long he suffered. she winced. hopefully not long. mia's eyes had skeptically looked from the waitress to Dan. he wasn't giving her any attention. he was focused on moss. and moss wasnt expecting that. with a gentle smile she looked as the waitress walked away abruptly. as his hand held her's, she clutched back at his hand. the warmth, the energy, the happiness. it was different. a small sigh of relief let out hopefully un-noticed. as he spoke, she only blinked once, staring at his hands now. Yes, i'd like that. Very Much. she shuddered at her words slightly.
-- && -- this was different for her. she was use to jerks or ones that she never connected with. but maybe she had chose someone right this time? she sure hoped. as she watched him look out to the trucks, she couldnt help but look again. her truck wasnt in great condition, only slightly better than Dans. her's wasnt rusted. she smiled at the thought of her GTO. I'll be getting my car in soon. Ya know, if you want you could borrow it anytime. it's a 2008 Mustang GTO. my....father had ordered it to arrive when i was seventeen. and this is the first time ive been away from it. but since we'll be hanging around together more, feel free to borrow either of my vehicles. she hoped that wasnt a pushy offer, but she didnt want to act if she was bragging about her car and didnt offer him a ride. she would be please to lend it to him anytime.
-- && -- all of the sudden she felt his hands pull away. in reflex, she pulled her hands from the spot and onto her lap in rejection. but then she looked and saw the reason. with a quick and sheepish laugh she looked at the stain on his shirt. she yanked out a wad of napkins, and tossed them towards him. she couldnt help let out a childish giggle. she watched him intently and noticed the waitress start to come over. making sure Dan wasnt looking, Mia shot a warning glance at the girl, which turned the girl around. she watched dan again, happy that she was in his company for the moment.

Dan worked with the napkins to get himself cleaned up frowning. He got his shirt mostly dried off and shook his head slowly. ”Right. Now that I ‘ave no dignity.” he said softly as he shook his shirt but was annoyed as it now clung to his skin. He flushed slightly in annoyance at his own lack of tact, clearly he was trying to be smooth and had failed something fierce. So he was a little lost as to how to make up for that. He glanced up to moss and flashed her a lopsided grin trying to play calm. ”always more shirts.” He said trying to play it off as nothing but the air conditioning plus the cold soda on his chest were giving him chills.
He dried off his hands and glanced up trying to bring himself back to the moment but hell if that soda wasn’t cold, ”Sounds hard. I didn’t lose my family to death I just can’t go back.” he said with a shrug, ”I think your way might have been harder and I am sorry for the pain you feel.” When she spoke of the car his jaw actually dropped a bit and he had to force it to snap shut. He stared at her a moment then to his beat up truck, ”I couldn’t trust myself behind the wheel. I like speed to much. It’s too nice a car for me. I would be ticketed before I hit the highway. But I would be glad for a ride.” he said nodding. Oh he knew of the car. They were beautiful and it seemed to suit the girl He could see her in it already. In mustang red no less. It was a fitting image, a good one too.
He reached out and pointedly took her hand that time, ”Thanks for the thought though. He nodded slowly and ran his thumb over the top of her hand feeling the smooth skin there. He had the same urge as she did, to have her in his life. ”I would like it though if you let me have some time with rain from time to time. So I can work on her fears. She has no need to be afraid of men. She needs to learn some people are just innately bad and its not men in general.”

-- && -- haha, yeah, always more shirts. she laughed softly. at his next statement she wondered. cant go back. she wasnt asking, more of a quiet statement and reminder to herself. and thanks, but dont feel sorry for me. im just a big wuss that is too scared to get over his death. she shuddered at the realization. she was holding onto his memories too much. she needed to get over it. hopefully her distraction with Dan could help that. abruptly starting laughing again at his next statement. You think you speed? HA. then dont get in the car with me. i was doing over 100mph on the way here. she chuckled at herself. and that was just in that old clunker. ive gotten a few tickets before. i just like driving wild. but im actually safer and more aware of an driver than most. i just have a heavy foot. she laughed. hard to understand unless you were in the car with her.
-- && -- So im serious take it for a spin anytime. but if you really insist i chauffeur you, i will. she laughed at the small joke. as his hand grabbed her, she didnt even flinch. only did she look away from him as the plates of food were slid infront of them. one hand released his hands, but the other held tight. she picked up her fork and dug into the salad. mm. rabbit food she glanced at him with a funny little smile. at his request to be with Rain more, Moss stared at him, unsure of what to say. well...uh...sure. ..i mean anytime. yeah. she stumbled on the words. she picked at her salad again, then set her fork down, ready to talk again. she gently tested Dans limits. So while your working with Rain, mind if i mess around with Pence? she stared, waiting for his answer, fearing that he'd refuse and be offended. a moment went by, and her hand clutched onto his gently, instead of letting him just hold it. this time her fingertips were rubbing against his palm, feeling the rough working hands that horsepeople always had. her palms were also slightly rough.

Daniel nodded slowly grinning madly at her. ”easy enough to buy more anyways. Cheap enough too.” he winked but at her comment of not going back his smile faltered a bit. “You want the truth my father wasn’t exactly a good man by the time I left.” she had confessed to him so he might as well confess to her. It was only right after all. ”He started drinking.” he paused the conversation as the food was set and waited for the waitress to wander off before continuing. ”’e got a bit rough.” he lifted the hand she had released to run a finger over a white scar just above his right eyebrow. It was hardly noticeable if one didn’t know it was there. The he nodded to his right hand, the hand she still held. The knuckles all held scars as if they had been split and healed up. ”Got a few more from ‘im too… ‘e put me in the hospital. My mum took off. I stole as much money as I could and took off as soon as I was out of the ‘ospital. Quite simply put I can’t go back.”He shrugged and then smiled a bit at her comment of rabbit food and snickered. ”I am a carnivore. Usually I prefer red meats but you know a spot of chicken now and then never ‘urt no one right?” He snickered and nodded, ”You a… what-cha-ma-call-it, a vegetarian? Or just in a plant mood?” Daniel forced the thoughts of his Father and Mother out of the line of thought, ”as for the thought of your car we will see what time does. It might be a too tempting idea to pass up. As for your driving I would be happy to fly in a car. Least the company will be attractive.” He gave a little wink and a lopsided smile trying to be flirty with her. It was the mention of pence that made him pause. He knew it was a good idea to work with him with another rider to get him calmed down, ”I would want to be there for the first few sessions. He has never ‘ad another rider and I want ‘im to be able to be ridden by others. After the first few once you know ‘ow to deal with ‘im there should be no problem. I would like to keep around you anyways. Perhaps work in the same ring. You seem to ‘ave more barrel experience then me anyways. It would be beneficial to ‘im anyways.” He nodded slowly, ”So I accept. We ‘ave a deal.”

-- && -- as he spoke of his father she shuddered. looking from his eyebrow to his knuckles, she let out a small gasp. fingertips rubbed the scars gently, feeling the smoothness to the scars. as he said stole, she looked back to him. she didnt understand his reasonings, but she understood that each person had their own history to deal through. she didnt fault him. she just hoped that this had been a long time ago, and his father was over it. because she didnt want anyone after him. as he spoke again she giggled. No, i just had a craving. im typically a carnivore. meat is yummmm. she giggled again. at his next statement she blushed. We'll i'll make sure to keep tempting you. and ha, fly we will. but you better watch. ha, i might steal ya. she tried to return the flirty gesture, but she thought she failed miserably.
-- && -- as he spoke of the deal with Pence, she suddenly got protective over Rain. but at his mention of the same ring, she smiled. Deal. one hand picked at the rest of her salad when her back pocket started buzzing softly. she gave an apologetic look to Dan, as her hands reluctantly removed themself from the table to read the text message. hey its dave. triple a's driver? well i wasnt gonna call cause i hate it, but we have an emergency car drop off very close to you, so we are bringing the car early. it'll be at your house in the morning. and since you already paid, we arent gonna charge you for the early arrival. ok well ttyl and have fun! damn. that guy had plenty of time to text her that. she smiled, but decided she'd tell dan later. if he asked she'd tell him, but she began to be skeptical about who was getting a car delivered from Colorado, to West Virginia so close to her. a brief thought flashed to her brother but she shook that off.

Daniel hadn’t had the money to get away and with her father’s connections with ninety percent of the horse people in Britain he wouldn’t have been safe. Money was the only thing that stopped him from freedom and he had taken that small thing. To him it didn’t seem like much. He knew if his father ever found him it would be hell warmed over. However he doubted the man would come to America much less find Dan if he did. He would only find him if someone told him where he lived and that, was a far cry out of the country. His family was famous but not that much so.
He snickered at her comment of craving just a salad. He had never really had vegetable cravings. Just wasn’t in his nature, something deep down told him if she asked he would eat spinach, his least favorite dish. He knew that was a silly thought but he wanted to make her happy at all costs. When she pulled away it made his brow conract and he watched her text under the table. He suddenly realized he didn’t have her number. How on earth did that intend to stay in contact with out it. He bought up his highly out dated non-flip phone and pulled him the screen to his own number. Tearing off a shred of his napkin he pulled the ever present pencil from his pocket. Carefully he scribbled down the ten digits and slipped it to her. ”No worries I got it in the states so no charge for long distance.” he winked and grinned, ”and I don’t know about you stealing me. I mean me and Pence will have to stick together now you see. Too many enchanting women in the ring. I mean if you stole me though, it all depends where you were to keep me. I mean hell if I were to be stole to some posh little 'ouse. Sure I'll go with out a fight. Then again with you doing the stealing. Might be worth it no mater where I end up.”

-- && -- mia took the napkin and neatly folded it, and put it in her pocket gently. but she didnt look at it, instead, she just pulled out her cell phone and began to add a new contact. after placing dan in her cell (with a space before his name, making it appear first in her contacts) she slid the phone over the table. just type in your number with a wink, she giggled. but ill keep the napkin in my truck incase something happens to my phone. she wasnt worried if he looked through her phone. messages, and pictures. she actually hoped he would. it would make him seem interested in her social life or something. there was a limited amount of text messages, only a few people from Colorado telling her how much they'd miss her, and a long message from her ex, the cop, that he had moved on and found a new girl he loved. he was very nice in that message, and she was happy for him that he wasnt going to be depressed. ha. most of her pictures were of her horse, and her cars, but there was one of her father. it was an old picture of him standing on the front of a boat with a large rockfish. this was the trip to the Chesapeake Bay to go fishing. she had it sent from her old phone to this one when she upgraded.
-- && -- attention swayed back as the check was slid infront of them. she pulled out the money, paying for herself. if that was rude, she was sorry, but she was taught to never pay for a man's food. mia warily looked at the time on her cell phone. she didnt want to go anywhere without him. she didnt exactly want to go to the barn, being there was too many kids that stayed there late. should she offer him to come back to her house? she'd wait and see what he'd do, then make her desicion. she spoke about his last statement shyly. very impressed at his compliment. yes there are a ton of beautiful women and mares at the barn. they might distract you. she spoke not of her self, but of th other girls there. ha. well, watch out tonight. if you see my truck coming after ya, you better run. she giggled.

Daniel took her phone and slowly typed in the number displayed on his phone. He finished and hit save but glanced up with a cheeky grin. He wasn’t the perfect gentleman and he knew it and he browsed her pictures, leaving test messages alone for he felt that was a little too creepy and invasive even for him. He used his free hand to nibble at his food as he peeked through and paused at a very nice picture of Rain and he smiled. He swallowed down the bit of chicken he had and observed her a moment. ”I know this might sound a bit creepy but ‘onestly I believe that Pence and Rain migh’ produce an amazing foal. I mean she is a trusting good learner. Then you got Pence who ‘as the speed and drive to learn anything. Their bloodlines migh’ make an amazing foal indeed. Just musing mind you not sayin’ it’s something we need to try.” He stared at the picture of her father a moment and glanced up to her with a little grin, ”You ‘ave a lot of your father in you. I can see that now.” It was a complement for her not for him. If someone told Dan he had a lot of his father in him he probably would have clocked the guy but for her it was a gesture of truth and for her to realize the man was still around.
”Anyways. Sorry if I overstepped lookin’ at your photos and all. Just want to know as much as I can about this mystery girl Moss in front of me. I mean for all I know you could just up and vanish and I would never see you again. Might as well learn what I can while I can right?” He winked and pushed her phone back across the table. When she put money down he pushed it off the check and straight into her lap without a second thought. It was a bit rude but he shot her a dirty look. ”I may not be in the best state with my money but that does not mean I am lettin’ you pay on our first outing Moss.” He scoffed and pulled out his wallet.
He ruffled through a few bills then pulled out enough for the tip and the check. He recounted and then nodded placing it on the edge of the table. He ate another fry and grinned at her. ”So put your money away it isn’ any good ‘ere. Right now. What can we do next? I don’t know much about town so you might ‘ave to enlighten me. I ‘ave a feelin’ you ‘ave done more explorin’ then me. I spend most of me time cooped up with a stallion in a ring all day so outin’s aren’t my specialty.”

-- && -- as he went through her pictures she giggled. as he spoke she blushed. yeah my pap always told me he was glad that i didnt get his big nose or hairy eyebrows she giggled. and rain's never had a foal. she was always trying to act like a mother to the foals at the old barn. and im not bothered by it, i have nothing to hide. except her brother and her mother she selfishly thought. as the money was slipped into her lap she skeptically eyed him. you know im not letting you get away with this. she was trying to act serious but couldnt help laughing. thank you. she spoke softly, then realized what he said. their first outting? like a date? she couldnt quite figure it out. what he meant. our first outting?
-- && -- as he spoke of her doing more exploring she blushed again. maybe she wasnt living up to his expectations. actually i havent. see just got here, and i wanted to know the trails off the back of my hand. and i only know my way here, to the barn, and to the house. everywhere else im not aquitanted with yet. i was sorta hoping you'd have an idea of what to do. she quickly glanced at her truck. if she went anywhere, she was going with him. her truck would just have to stay here until their gallavanting was done. but what if he didnt want her to come? a confused look shot across her face, but removed itself as she looked back to him. what to do, what to do. .......well worse comes to worse, we could always head over to the barn again. or my place. i dont care. she wanted to say i dont care as long as im with you but wasnt brave enough for that move yet.

Daniel shook his head and ran his fingers through his own hair with a smile. He nodded slowly, “perhaps eventually she could be a mother. I mean if you wanted ‘er to be. It’s your mare ‘oo would be pregnant for a year. MY stallions got the easy part, does ‘is job and then ‘as nothin’ left to do but wait.” He watched her a moment seeing the idea hit her. Perhaps he had said to much in his ramblings. Normally around woman he was bad at finding words but with Moss talking seemed so natural and easy. Watching her face about the money he snickered. ”I am getting away with nothing I am doing what I was raised to.” he said firmly and nodded. ”If you feel a need to make it up to me some other time I won’t let you then either. Women don’t pay for their men.” He gave another firm nod as if laying law and that was final. His strong intonation on the word their as unintentional but after he said it he looked away to ignore his slight embarassemet at the over statement. He did not have her as his girlfriend, he was not her boyfriend there for he was not her man. He didn’t have any claim on this beauty before him. Her comment of first outing got a glance and he thingyed his head slowly. ”Wha’ you think I am going to have one lunch with you and call that it? I said I would be a distraction. Wha’ kind of distraction would I be without showing up often.”
Heaven forbid he should say date. Honestly he was a bit scared of the word. If he said they were dating there was a chance he would let her down and then where would he be? He would end up hurt, and so would she. So for now he avoided the word. If she said it there could be confirmation. Something about the word date seemed to doom him to failure so he would let the girl be the first one to say they were dating. The thought of another man touching her made him drop one of his hands under the table so she could not see him gripping his leg with quite a bit of force. He couldn’t explain it he had just met this girl this morning and already had fallen head over heels. It hadn’t been love at first sight. Maybe attraction at first sight but the more she talked the more he wanted to be around her. She was his siren singing her song to entice him closer and he couldn’t help but heed her call. He finally spoke again forcing his hand to release the grip on his knee, ”Even if I have to keep you out all day and night to do my job properly I will. We will discover the town together and probably just wander about or lay around.”
He shrugged at the mention of her not knowing the town and chuckled. So they were in the same boat neither knowing the town but both knowing the stable like the back of their hands. It seemed he took mustang in the same light he took Pence, a very close and reliable friend. He took a moment to pretend to mull the options over he didn’t want to see creepy instantly saying he wanted to go be at her house. ”I think giving pence some time to settle down away from Rain might be a good idea. Leave him with her long enough and we migh’ end up with a foal whether we like it or not. Aye?” He smiled and glanced outside at the failing light. ”Besides it’s a bit dark for riding isn’ it? Bit dark for explorin’ too. If you’re offerin’ your place to muck about at I am not goin’ to deny the idea. If it all seems a bit too much though you’re welcome to send me ‘ome.”

-- && -- mia laughed as he spoke. yes, i would have to put up with that hormonal mare the for an entire year, but i dont know. i think it'd be cool to have a foal to raise. and you know, being your going to be distracting me, we could raise and train the foal together. she looked at him for a moment, wondering how he would take such off. at his next statement she smiled. well its good to see a decent man raised properly for once. she blushed. when he finished speaking on the topic she couldnt help but giggle. so your my man now? she began putting the pieces together. their first outting. girls dont pay for their man. he was including her in his life already. and she couldnt help but feel like she was falling in love. she blushed a deep red. how about not calling it a distraction anymore. i'd rather call it dating. she blushed again, but her grip on his hands tightened. she stared him in the eye trying to show as much emotion as possible. she was trying to let her guard down. and trying to let him in. she really was falling in love.
-- && -- hell with falling, she had already fell. she was in love. and she was worried that she was rushing it. at his final topic she laughed. i wont send you home. you wouldnt be doing your job then! she was kidding, with a very playful look on her face. so yes, lets go muck about my house but ill warn you now, its nothing fancy. and my two dogs are here. hope you arent bother by dogs, cause their love bugs. she snickered, avoiding to add that she was even more of a love bug than them. but no one knew that. yet. she eyed the two trucks again. vehicles was all she said, hoping he'd pick up on the topic and figure out the plan for the trucks. she didnt know if she was going to be able to drive alone. she could probably do it, but even now, even touching him, she wasnt satisfied. it was taking alot of her to just not cuddle up against him right now. she began to wonder how he felt. he better speak up, cause if he didnt, she was going to pry on such topic.

Daniel snickered and nodded. He smiled as she mentioned a full year of distraction and beyond to train the foal. That sounded, remarkably good. He tilted his head, it gave an excuse to stay around her even if she wasn’t going to want him around after a time. He grinned. Her comment of a decent man made him raise a brow. He was far from it. He had ignored her earlier when she had said stop and gone on with his training, he was too focused and he knew that he needed to learn better. Ever since his father, well ya, he had problems letting people in. Moss, he wanted to be the exception. Her next statement threw him off, “Well erm.” He didn’t know how to respond to her catching his little slip in words and his eyes widened a bit, “You know wha’ yes. Yes I am.” He managed to get out. When she spoke of dating he nodded trying to keep his cool while his inside bubbled like a volcano. He had the prettiest girl at pinewood to himself, ”Dating it is.”
At the thought of not going home he couldn’t complain. It was a small, dirty, trailer with not even an animal to make it better. Once more, like the truck, it was all he could afford. He let go of one hand and pulled her out to stand before him, “Then I will just have to stay the night hum?” he said hoping it had come out like a joke and not a creepy ‘I will rape you’ one. He would never consider doing it but the words were a bit hard to say this early on without sounding creepy. He glanced to the cars and felt a pang of regret he hadn’t picked her up, it would of made this easier. “’ow about I take you up on that coiffure idea hum? My truck ‘as nothing worth stealing so it’ll be fine.” He winked at her and pulled his hand free to push her lightly towards the door. He was done with the dinner, its bright florescent lights were giving him a headache. ”As for dogs. I like all animals. Dogs are great companions. Wait your dogs over 50lbs?” He was hopeful. Anything under he considered a bit silly but he had a feeling with her that they would be manageable, even if they did bounce when they barked and then wet themselves with fear.
