Roxy walked in to the stable area. A little bit ago some people had brought her new horse. Her first ever arabian. She had heard and learned from experience they were really high spirited. a Exercising a few before she had made the decision to get one had been a pretty good idea. She'd seen Dash's add in the newspaper a few weeks ago. Feeling like she had been waiting for months she lengthened her confident stride. She figured he would be quite a handful since he was a stallion, but she wasn't to worried, she had after all had grown up with horses most of her life. Hearing an inquiring nicker she broke into a slow jog.
Finally she came upon several men trying to keep a rambunctious stallions hooves on the ground. A smile claimed her features. He was a handful all right. His name fit, "Dashing Danger". She liked the way it sounded. Glancing at his front hooves as they sliced through the air she had to agree with the last word in his name, danger. Once the stallion was calm she walked slowly up to him holding out her hand for the stallion to sniff. Reaching out cautiously he sniffed loudly and slightly nudged her hand with his perfect shaped arab nose.
Working slowly she ran her hands along his body so he could get used to her touch. Throughout the whole "exercise" he just twisted his head and gazed at her curiously. Finally after some time with him she had him saddled and bridled. To her he looked like equine perfection, the way he arched his neck and pranced as she led him outside she was pretty sure he thought so to. Walking him out to where an area she could mount she stopped him. Then put some slight pressure on his back. Finally she swung her right leg and it arced over his back, landing softly in the saddle she took up the reins.
It felt like heaven. She hadn't been on a horse in 4 months. Thankfully all her riding muscles weren't to out of whack. She grinned as the wind blew her brown curly air out behind her. Turning him she sent him off in the direction to the Pinewood Trail. She had heard it was a great place. Riding along at and even trot as she guided her horse. Her horse! It felt so good to say those simple two words again. Signaling him he broke into a gallop mane blowing back so it whipped her face. Her eyes looked between his to upright ears. This was what freedom felt like. Slowing him back down to a lazy walk she enjoyed the sights. Now hopefully one day she'd have a friend to ride with...
